That was interesting to read, though I don't agree with Sapphic there, Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah remains the superior one, for the ends of times. Cohen's version is extremely good, don't get me wrong, but Buckley's arrangement and the raw and intense emotion in his voice is incomparable, it just can't be touched, it is almost reaching something sacred & divine, even. It's always bringing me to tears everytime I listen to it. Cohen's version never did.

Putting all 20 vastly different songs (be it in genre, tempo, languages, style) all packed up in the very detailed description of being "very mediocre", damn, this is just sad. Makes me wonder what kind of songs you'd actually love. That musical taste of yours must be something, alright.

All the songs i liked didn't make it to finale so i'm not gonna vote. And i'm not saying they're plainly bad, some of them have some interesting sounds but they lose appeal to me because they all seem very safe. Melodies i've already heard somewhere else, somewhat repetitive and very mass-appealing. In general nothing mindblowing, unique or that could be considered the real BEST to me.

 

Fair enough, we'll agree to disagree then :3

But I figured Jenny was the catchiest of them all (my BF had it in its head all week long) and highest chances of being liked by most. Ode To The Bouncer is the song that made me fall in love with them, so it'll always have that special place in my kokoro.

The person who I noticed deleted their vote, only had one vote remaining, and it was for Ghana, which looked shady at the time, especially in the light of what Ayyu just said before. She explained what happened though, so I retracted my words and apologized.

Yessssss Australia! I'm glad they won because hot damn it was my top 3 favorite in the final, voted for it, and I love Flume!

I'm glad Germany managed to snatch that 4th place, even though I think it completely deserved top3 imo, but still, the song pulled through regardless, and I'm still listening to it nowadays.

 

I'm thankful for all the people who voted for my song, discovered it and took a liking for it. I'm glad I managed to reach 11th place with all the amazing songs here, just one step away from top10! Competition was hella fierce, so I'm satisfied <3

 

Thank you Ayyu for organizing this, it was really fun, even though also really stressing and nerve-wracking, especially since I didn't expect it to last this long and having to promote this hard :'D

Yes please do so! I'm eager to see how some songs, mine included, fared in the semi, when the first phase of contestant voting was purely and entirely unbiased! I think the final phase of contestant voting might have seen some people strategically vote for the songs that didn't come on top in the semi public polls, or songs that appeared to be the least popular and least likely to win, which might be a flaw in the voting system imo.

=O... but then if you abstain from voting, you are really helping yourself. you don't add points to the other's totals. since this one is over, there is nothing that can be changed.. but i would suggest considering a penalty imposed on people who don't vote. there's a lot of songs very close together and if the top 3 were grouped closer in terms of points, it could have really made a difference.

 

Yeah, that really should be penalized indeed, like. How can you still be qualified if you don't vote at all, thus not giving the points to other countries while they do give points to you.
