Struggling group:

- Not completely nugu

- Inconsistent

- Weak Fanbase

- Has experienced some success at some point in their career

- Most popular member has a decent individual fanbase and good public recognition (Cf...tv appearances...shows up on rankings)

Successful Group:

- Think SNSD, BB, Exo, Twice...

Basically if you want to be Chaeyeon in Dia or Jihyo/Chaeyoung in Twice.

I'll rather be in Twice even if I'm a lesser popular member, because I don't have to carry the burden of my flop group. Plus I wouldn't have my nugu members leeching off me splitting my hard earned money

Being the most popular in a nugu groups means you get more harassment, more saesangs and more criticism for little money and an unstable career.

Being the least popular in a popular group means you can get tons of money and not be harassed by fans or by haters because no one notices you. Kind of sucks as you've worked so hard BUT you have still achieved success as part of the group which is partly due to your contribution, and you can just make your money and go on to other endeavours.

least popular member of a very successful group because i still get plenty of popularity and fans but if i were in the opposite case then my group would look to me to give my group relevancy or they'll be bitter because they're not as popular as me and neither situation sounds very ideal

I'd want to be the least popular in a super successful group. That least popular successful group member will still have more fans than that popular struggling group member in the grand scheme of things. In general, success for my group is the most important thing as far as I'm concerned. I can live without being that girl with the most people screaming for her.
