did you already watch ep.9? something bad happens to KSB

but yet im confused about how manual mode looks like imstupid.png

<< E D I T >>

im sort of annoying with the mom, whenever she feel not satisfied with robotshin she tries to make him more like damage? for the sake of her fking real son, god dammit HOW SELFISH IS SHE???!!!!! souleyesplz.pngohpressor.png

I did but its still without subs, lol ok i now saw the preview. So probably the ending this ep will be a cliffhanger of real nam shin moving his hands.

Hmm well i do hate the mom just cause all she can think about is her real son i mean why create a robot son if she cant give equal love to them both? I feel bad for robo nam shin even though he doesnt have any feelings cause its still unfair that he does this things for his mom and others and they just treat him like a robot. Anyway i am wishing for david to justbtake him instead so he and sobong can live peacefully.

The manual probably looks like a briefcase with a small monitor like a laptop with a red button labelled kill switch? Lol

Read this only if you watched episode 19-20=)

ok first of all i love that sobong and namshin3 are getting close, plus even though nam shin said he doesnt have any feelings or emotion its pretty obvious he is showing a lot of it with sobong only.

Next is that although real nam shin as they said might now wake up, but obviously will be. I hope he will not sabotage sobong and namshin3 relationship. I am excited though on what he will do when he wakes up.

Most plot twist i wasnt expecting was david, i didnt know he and grandpa nam know each other. After analyzing things i made a conclusion that grandpa nam must have hired david to spy on dr oh and might have known that she is creating an AI that can be close to a human, he might have gitten interested in the idea and might use dr oh work as part of PK's future technology?? Also he might have kept the fact that he knows namshin3 due to the fact that the robot might be a good use for him than his own grandson seeing as how he labeled real shin as weak. He might saw that robo shin can be used as his next heir and can easily follow what he orders.

Are You Human Too: Episodes 17-18

Human1718-00445.jpg

It’s long past time that Nam Shin-III rebelled against everyone who keeps telling him what to do, including So-bong. Even a robot gets tired of being ordered around with no consideration of what he wants, especially a robot who was made to make his own decisions. Unfortunately, a lot of people are finding Nam Shin-III’s newfound independence very inconvenient, and he’ll have to get creative in order to keep protecting the woman he loves (that’s right, I said loves!).

 EPISODE 17 RECAP

Nam Shin-III activates at 6 am to wake So-bong for her morning jog. He thinks she’s sleeping in, but he lets himself into her room to find it empty, and belatedly remembers that she quit her job as his bodyguard. He does this every morning — forgets momentarily that So-bong is no longer there.

He goes jogging alone, and accidentally projects a hologram of So-bong next to him, whining and complaining. He fixes the “hologram error,†and as he remembers her saying she wants nothing more to do with him, he reminds himself, “Kang So-bong is no longer here.â€

So-bong even got Young-hoon to pack up her things, too afraid of Jong-gil’s suspicion to go to the house. Young-hoon worried about her leaving because she’s the best at managing Nam Shin-III, but she’d pointed out that Nam Shin-III could break protocol to protect her again and put them all in danger.

Human1718-00045.jpg Human1718-00048.jpg

Young-hoon suggested they look into why Nam Shin-III’s rules changed regarding her, but So-bong whined that she doesn’t want to do this anymore. She’d said that she used to think of Nam Shin-III as an object, but he speaks and acts like a person, and she hates that she’s getting emotional about a robot.

Still, her family can tell that she’s distracted. Reporter Jo (who’s staying with So-bong to avoid the idol fans she offended) defends So-bong to her father, saying that she did the professionally responsible thing.

Ro-ra prepares to lead the new M-car team, and Nam Shin-III why So-bong quit. Young-hoon keeps it vague, simply saying that she didn’t want to work anymore. Ro-ra tells Nam Shin-III that he was acting strangely because of her, so So-bong quit before it got worse.

EPISODE 18 RECAP

Human1718-00353.jpg Human1718-00354.jpg

He finds her waiting outside with her dad’s van, and she tosses him the keys and tells him, “Slave, drive.†He tosses them back with a sunny smile and says he’s not her slave anymore, and she glares at Ro-ra and says she’s borrowing Nam Shin-III and not to call them.

Not much has changed — So-bong complains at Nam Shin-III’s stubborn insistence on following the driving laws. She says that humans sometimes break the rules, but Nam Shin-III intones that he’s not human, then asks why she “borrowed†him. So-bong tells him to pull over, but he refuses, saying that today he’s going to act according to his own judgment like she told him to do.

He buys a pair of electric bikes, and as he buckles So-bong into her helmet, he tells her about his “error†that made him see her while jogging. Since she was always complaining in his replays, he says he wanted to get her an electric bicycle if he ever saw her again. Oh, you sweet robot.

COMMENTS

Okay, that whole scene was a bit dramatic, but very prettily done, all the same. I find it a bit of a stretch that the M-car got itself downstairs, much less so quickly, even guided by Nam Shin-III. But I do love me some Shinbot in Hero Mode, and that last scene was beautifully lit and filmed, and I’m just shallow enough to let that sway me into getting all emotional about it. I don’t know why a robot protecting a cranky, mostly unlikable girl is so swoony, but it is, because he’s doing it for exactly the right reasons — So-bong is the only person who sees Nam Shin-III for who he is and not what he can do for them, and she’s the only person who doesn’t try to change him into something or someone he isn’t. If that’s not love, on both sides, then I don’t know what is.

So-bong is not the kind of heroine I usually enjoy… she’s too contrary and stubborn and resists all good advice, which makes it hard for me to soften towards her. But I do respect her independent mind, particularly in the way she’s pushing back against developing human feelings towards a robot. It’s very innocently romantic to think, “Oh, a drama about a human and a robot falling in love, how sweet,†but I find So-bong’s negative reaction to her feelings very realistic. As adorable and lovable and sweet as he is, Nam Shin-III is not a human being. He’s not flesh and blood. But I will still argue that he’s a person, just a new kind of person, he’s just not the kind of person that human beings have experience with. Developing any kinds of feelings of compassion or caring towards Nam Shin-III is distressing for So-bong because there’s no precedent and no guidance for how to handle such a situation, and that’s totally in line with her personality. Bring in the attraction she’s beginning to feel for him, not to mention the very real danger she’s in from Jong-gil, and I can see why her knee-jerk response is just to get away.

But it’s not just So-bong who’s getting emotionally attached to Nam Shin-III… Young-hoon is starting to care for him too, to the point that he’s on the verge of making himself sick with worry and anxiety. His feelings towards Shin have always been tangled up in the luxury that being Shin’s shadow allowed him to live in, but his relationship to Nam Shin-III is much simpler. Not only is he in charge of keeping Nam Shin-III safe, which is bound to elicit feelings of protectiveness, but the robot looks to him for guidance, and to teach him about the world. It’s no wonder that Young-hoon is becoming emotionally involved the same way So-bong is, no matter how much they tell themselves that Nam Shin-III is “just†a robot.

And then of course there’s Nam Shin-III, who’s getting all kinds of emotionally attaches to So-bong, whether or not he realizes it. He’s not having “errors,†he just misses her! And you cannot convince me that the look on Nam Shin-III’s face as he glared at Snake wasn’t real, white-hot fury. But I really love how the show isn’t trying to convince the audience that our Shinnamon Roll has human-like emotions, but instead is subtly redefining what it means to be a person as Nam Shin-III evolves into something more than what he was made to be. Maybe he doesn’t feel emotions like people do, but he worries and cares and even loves, in his own unique way. The trick will be whether So-bong and Young-hoon will be able to understand that and accept Nam Shin-III’s version of love, or if they’ll be like Ro-ra and insist that because he isn’t a person in the same way they are, then he’s not any kind of person at all.

“Are You Human Too?†has achieved its highest viewership ratings yet and took first place in its time slot.

According to Nielsen Korea, the June 12 episode of “Are You Human Too?†achieved 7.7 percent and 9.9 percent nationwide viewership ratings. These are drama’s highest ratings yet. In comparison, the June 11 episodes achieved 5.4 percent and 6.3 percent. The drama was the only terrestrial broadcasting station drama to air on June 12, as MBC’s â€œPartners for Justice†and SBS’s “Wok of Love†were canceled due to the North Korea-United States summit.

The June 12 episodes were quite eventful and full of excitement as Namsin the robot showed his humanistic side for the first time, as he helped Kang So Bong find her pendant, an heirloom from her mother. His identity as a robot was also revealed to her, when he became injured in a car crash and she checked his wound.

“Are You Human Too?†is about a robot Namsin III (played by Seo Kang Joon) who takes the place of his human counterpart Nam Shin (also played by Seo Kang Joon), a comatose heir and his bodyguard Kang So Bong (played by Gong Seung Yeon).

Are You Human Too: Episodes 19-20

This episode gives us a lot to think about, as the people around Nam Shin-III start to wonder what it means to be human. Does it mean having emotions? Does having a computer instead of a brain mean that he’s not “real?†To some, Nam Shin-III is a tool to be used then thrown away, while others feel that he has value just because he’s himself. But the most important person — Nam Shin-III himself — still doesn’t know if he’s a person, and it will be up to him not only to come to that conclusion himself, but to convince the unbelievers.

EPISODE 19 RECAP

Jong-gil and Toady trick So-bong into showing up in Ro-ra’s office, where Snake attacks her and forces her to his car. He shoves her into the trunk and she panics, holding onto her mother’s locket and thinking about how she pushed Nam Shin-III away yet again. She wonders why he looked at her so sadly, and why she’s thinking of him now.

Just as the wedding is about to start, Nam Shin-III notices that Ro-ra isn’t at her seat. He pulls her phone from her purse and retrieves the deleted text Toady sent to So-bong asking her to go to Ro-ra’s office. He removes the battery pack that allows Ro-ra to control him remotely, and follows So-bong’s phone signal to the parking garage, where he stops Snake’s car with his bare hands and slams it into a concrete pillar.

From inside the trunk, So-bong despairs, assuming that Nam Shin-III won’t rescue her because she told him to leave again. She cringes when the trunk opens, but it’s Nam Shin-III, there to save her after all. He gives her that big, happy smile, and she bursts into tears.

Human1920-00052.jpg

Right there, Nam Shin-III takes her into his arms to hug her tears away. He tells her, “I’m here now. I’m sorry I’m so late.â€

Snake sees Nam Shin-III sitting on the back of his car and makes a run for it. So-bong notices that he’s taking the car’s black box recorder with him. Seeing the damage to the car, she woies that Nam Shin-III is on film displaying decidedly non-human strength. She’s hurt her ankle, so she tells Nam Shin-III to catch Snake, but he’s more woied about her injury. Still, he’s no match for her pleading, so he obeys her wishes.

Snake jumps into a taxi and calls Toady to tell him that there’s no way “Shin†is human. Nam Shin-III goes after him on a motorcycle, and Snake panics and gets out of the taxi, running right into traffic in his eagerness to flee. Toady waits for Snake nearby in his car, so he has a front-row seat when Snake is hit by a van.

EPISODE 20 RECAP

Human1920-00346.jpg Human1920-00343.jpg

Young-hoon follows Ro-ra, who says that it’s too hard to be around Nam Shin-III because he no longer listens to her. She says she needs to change her perspective, but she doesn’t explain what she means.

Nam Shin-III meets Jong-gil at a bar, where Jong-gil asks why Nam Shin-III hurt Ye-na by not showing up at the wedding. Nam Shin-III says that Jong-gil hurt her more with what he did to the man Ye-na loves. Jong-gil pretends confusion, calling this a misunderstanding.

Nam Shin-III asks if Snake would agree after trying to kill him, then getting killed himself trying to abduct So-bong. Jong-gil claims to be offended that Nam Shin-III thinks he tried to kill him. Nam Shin-III says he has proof, though he doesn’t plan to use it yet, but he warns that if Jong-gil harms anyone he cares about, he’ll do the exact same thing to him.

COMMENTS

I was genuinely surprised to learn that not only has Chairman Nam known about Nam Shin-III all along, but that he’s been Ro-ra’s sponsor from the very beginning. I figured that he might have known Nam Shin-III’s secret after he revealed that he never had dementia, but I never guessed that he was actually bankrolling Ro-ra’s development of Nam Shin-III. I do find it hard to believe that if Nam Shin-III’s “brain†requires so much physical space, that Ro-ra never saw where it was located and apparently hasn’t ever been curious about it, but I guess I’ll have to go with it for story’s sake.

Here’s what i really don’t understand: Why was anyone surprised that “Shin†didn’t show up for the wedding? The real Shin actively hates Ye-na and never would have agreed to marry her, and Nam Shin-III has barely tolerated her. Did they really think that just planning a wedding would change his mind about marrying her? And what did the people who know about Nam Shin-III think would happen when Shin wakes and learns that while he was in a coma fighting for his life, he was married by proxy to a girl he despises and into a family he considers the enemy? The whole thing was just a terrible, badly thought-out plan from the beginning, so I’m glad it didn’t happen.

Human1920-00461.jpg

It’s interesting to watch Nam Shin-III’s evolution from a simple android to something much more human, because it so closely mirrors how a child grows up. First he was entirely dependent on his mother for everything — safety, companionship, even his very existence. Then he entered the big world and began to see that there was more out there, and began pulling away from his mother and seeking out relationships elsewhere. He learned to take guidance from Young-hoon, and protection, then caring, and now friendship from So-bong. He still cares for Ro-ra, but he no longer needs her in the same way, and I think that’s why she’s so angry with the changes in him.

She created him expecting him to be dependent on her forever, and to be a replacement for her human son, but Nam Shin-III is becoming his own person independent of her. She may not like it, but the moment Ro-ra pushed Nam Shin-III into the world then essentially abandoned him, she lost control of the direction he evolved in, and rightfully so. I think David nailed it when he said she’s a bad mother, at least to Nam Shin-III. I can understand why she’s upset and wants her biological son back, but she’s spent twenty years lovingly creating and living with Nam Shin-III, so I don’t get how she can just toss him away so casually. But now that she seems to have done that, I hope that Nam Shin-III is able to keep growing and flourishing with So-bong, who only wants him to be himself.

I love So-bong and Nam Shin-III’s new friendship — they’re so cute now that So-bong isn’t fighting the fact that she actually likes the adorable Shinbot. I was feeling weird about her anger and denial that Nam Shin-III seems like a real person (and Young-hoon’s too, for that matter), because it’s not a moral failing to feel kinship and compassion towards something that seems so human. I mean, people do it with pets all the time, so why would it be bad to feel friendly towards something that looks, acts, and sounds like an actual human being? Nam Shin-III was created to fool people into thinking he’s a real person, so it’s no surprise that even people who know he isn’t would develop emotional attachments to him. It’s literally what he was made for — to give Ro-ra somewhere to direct all of her maternal love after her son was taken from her. But then, I also appreciate that both So-bong and Young-hoon aren’t entering into relationships with Nam Shin-III lightly the same way Ro-ra did, but are making sure that they’re not misdirecting their energy futilely. They are the ones who will still be Nam Shin-III’s friends after everything blows up, because they really see him as an independent entity, while Ro-ra only ever saw him as an extension of herself. I’d much rather see Nam Shin-III with the people who appreciate and love him for who he is, not something to be disposed of once it’s no longer convenient.

Are You Human Too’ Episodes 21-22 Spoilers: Shocking Twist Teases Seo Kang Joon’s Fate

viewers-might-soon-see-two-healthy-nam-s

Beloved characters will begin to show where their true loyalties lie in Are You Human Too Episodes 21-22. Latest spoiler news teased of a highly intelligent robot facing imminent destruction amid the hands of his creator.

Are You Human Too Episodes 19-20 was a rollercoaster ride given the shocking plot developments that unveiled secrets and conspiracies. Following Nam Shin III's (Seo Kang Joon) heroic mission to rescue So Bong (Gong Seung Yeon), Jong Gil (Yu Oh Seong) was provided a hint that his daughter's fiancé might not be who he really is. The discovery also paved the way for Ye Na (Park Hwan Hee) to learn about her father's plan to kill Nam Shin.

Aired on July 10, the Are You Human Too Episodes 19-20 also revealed David's (Choi Duk Moon) secret supporter who helped finance Laura's (Kim Sung Ryoung) robot project. A clandestine meeting between David and Nam Shin's grandfather Gun Ho (Park Young Gyu) unveiled the elderly businessman's involvement in Nam Shin III's creation. Held at a massive server room that houses Nam Shin III's "brain" or data center, Gun Ho verbalized his interest in keeping the robot fully functional despite knowing about the human Nam Shin's comatose state.

However, Laura's apprehensions over Nam Shin III's growing independence might still push her to utilize the said robot's kill switch. Knowing the threat to Nam Shin III's continued existence, David will attempt to hide the switch from the said scientist. A scene in Are You Human Too Episodes 21-22 showed David rushing to remove the device from Laura's vault. It appears that the former will opt to keep his robot son alive while supporting Nam Shin's grandfather's business plans to release a line of highly evolved robots.

Nam Shin III will also begin to understand that his time portraying the role of the human Nam Shin might soon come to an end. With the latter showing signs of waking up from his coma, the robot will start to wonder if he can continue to exist in the real world. Confused about his purpose, Nam Shin III will turn to So Bong in Are You Human Too Episodes 21-22 who will try to reassure the said robot that he can still be who he wants to be.

Viewers might soon see two healthy Nam Shins in upcoming episodes of ‘Are You Human Too.
