What do you think of British accent?

a lot of people seem to love it but i'm not a big fan of it, it's difficult to listen for me. i have a hard time concentrating on what a british person is talking about because i always focus on their accent.

it also sounds sharper for me ("sharp" may not be the best word but idk how to describe it, they just emphasize a lot of things) and american accents are easier for my ear

i'm not here for this negging smh

which british accent

there's more than one

the 'british' accent is vague, Britain has hundreds of very different accents

this is true but it's also true for most any other country you can think of. So of course people mean the sort of 'average' accent represented in that country's media

other countries accents are at least similar, scottish and english accents are nothing alike. it doesn't make sense to put them in the same box.

if your idea of average is English just change the title to 'English accent'

as an outside observer, I think they sound sort of similar. And I find australian and english accents extremely similar. I think most americans would agree. but when people say britain they usually (erroneously I know) mean england. No american would say, 'oh, I'm british-american' when they mean their ancestors were scottish.

also I'm not the OP so
