If you were an SNSD member, would you have been happy with Mr.Mr?

Put yourself in SNSD's shoes. After nearly 7 years in the industry (4 years as the nation's top girl group), you're given the song Mr.Mr. as a comeback song. It's good but it's nothing amazing or groundbreaking. You also had no input in the creative process of the song or concept (or any of the songs on the mini either).

 

Would you be satisfied with this? Would you not think after 7 years, you should have a little creative freedom  in what you put out (if you want it of course)? I know this is SM we're talking about but..

Even on their last mini Hoot, Yuri wrote the lyrics for "Mistake" and that was like 3+ years ago. With IGAB they were starting to get a lot more freedom in the involvement with their songs (minus the title track) and then to do a 180 this time around and not let them do anything at all and it turns out mediocre...

 

I don't know how much freedom they have over title track stuff but hell, even my bias group Dal Shabet had input on their own outfits with their most recent comeback. And Subin wrote/composed her own solo song. I don't see why SNSD can't be more involved since they've been in the industry 4 yrs longer than them.

I would be kinda okay with it. Mr Mr isnt a really bad song but it is kinda well.. a bit lackluster
If I wanted to be noticed and given a chance to be part of the work, I think I would try to prove that I can do it. Study about composing really hard and really try to produce something to let them know I can do it.

If I was an SNSD member I would do anything to make sure Trick & Oscar to get an MV

See this is what I'm talking about. Groups that have been in the industry far less than SNSD have more creative input while SNSD continue to be fed what SM gives them. It's quite saddening.

IGAB was, lets be nice and say, unique but at least the choreo was interesting to watch. Mr Mr is not at all interesting to watch. It is so not SNSD style. SNSD is one of the groups that can dance well. When they debuted, they were known as the group that can dance fiercely while singing. This...whatever this is, is not what they need and what they deserve!
