Official SBS 'It's Okay, That's Love' Thread (It's Okay, It's Over Now)

I watched the first two episodes and so far I feel neutral towards it. The drama was okay enough for me to not stop watching midway but not intriguing enough to the point where i can't wait to watch the next episode. JIS and GHJ have good chemistry and did well in their roles.

I'm still not sure whether I like the fact that they've tried to show all our charters as being victims of one or other mental or social issues. I mean, on one hand I feel glad that they're trying to keep things realistic, like GHJ's character having insecurity issues and a fear of commitment cause of her mother and this fear being realised in her cheating boyfriend. But on the other hand, it felt like they tried too much? like JIS's character taking his (supposed) homicidal brother so lightly?

Anyway, so far it's doing well. Let's see what happens next.

Which rating is this now? Kinda confused

nationwide live streaming ratings from official sites (e.g. sbs) i think. these are still important as sbs can still make money from it and can charge advertising etc.

i guess i'm in the minority, because i just finished watching up the subbed episodes and i am in love with this show.

the production values are well above average, the drama treats mental illness with much-needed respect and sympathy (i like that the show defines medical terms to educate viewers who may not understand much about the topics being addressed), the storyline is mature and adult, and most importantly, jo in sung is fiiiiiiiiiiiiine. i thought d.o. would be the eye candy of this show, but i am like  :stare: any time jo in sung comes on screen (which fortunately is a lot).

i also love that despite being an unusual concept, it still has that quirky style underneath that typifies korean dramas.

Watched the first two episodes and I liked what I've seen so far. So many things happened that created a disconnection to me at first but in the end, the story and the characters mixed well.

Story- wise, I'm looking forward for Kyungsoo's character in the long run and how it will unfold in the drama.

The shots were breath- taking, especially the tight shots of Gong Hyo Jin's character was talking to her patient.

It felt like she was talking to me.  :rlytearpls:

Love the songs used in the drama so far.

Hae Soo runs out shyly after spending a night with Jae Yeol and Jae Yeol thinks it is cute. Soo Kwang is angry at Hae Soo's sleepover, but Do Min sees Hae Soo as praiseworthy. Meanwhile, Hae Soo sees Jae Yeol hosting the radio and starts seeing him differently, but...

a woman protested outside SBS that IOTL rating (15) is too low and that it promotes sex/violence/transgender issues. She wants the production to shut down. Even though its just one woman, I wouldn't be suprised if this grows into more of an issue; it seems like Korean society are not ready to deal with the issues the drama raises.

I have a feeling already that this drama will give me problems.

Gong Hyo Jin ...

MASTER-S-SUN-KDRAMA-image-masters-sun-kd

... she's hot.

It will be difficult for me because they always show body shots.

I didn't know who she was until today, sooo .... slayyyyy.

Full body shots have me like:

She's got a charisma to her, too.

Beautiful. :o

Kwang Soo's doing pretty well, also. :P

And the male protagonist ... ehh. I have a feeling they'll break up to make up, so I'm not really worried.

Uhh... that protest... Some people have way too much free time on their hands it seems.

If she thinks the show is harmful for kids then she shouldn't let her kids watch it and that's all.

There was no reason to make that huge ass sign and stand in front of the SBS building.

just watched episode 3.

I'm really leaning towards the theory of Gang Woo being the younger self of Jae Yeol.

The scene where he runs with Hae Soo mirrors the scene of Gang Woo's escape from his father.

Well at least this time, he's happy and he's running with someone by his side.

i have a question.............

i haven't started the series yet but i will soon (been busy T_T), but in regards to the theories of kyungsoo being Jang Jae Yeol when he was a kid.... is it safe to say that it's one of those coming of age type of dramas where the main character reflects back and reminisces on the innocents of his youth? If so, I can't wait to watch... i loving coming of age type of dramas..

It's not a coming of age story. I think its a commentary on how "normal" people can have (mental) issues too and not just the people we think are crazy. It also highlights the impact of our past and childhoods and how these can contribute to behaviour and wellness as adults - this is where I think it relates to JY the most (him letting go of his past in some way).

I think the crux of the story is more about the recognition and acceptance of mental illness being present in everyone in some aspect in order to deal with it and treat it (as well as stop it from being a taboo etc. in society).
