The Best Scenes Chosen by Writer, Director and Actors of IOTL.

20140826_1409031977_38362600_1_99_201408

1. Writer Noh Hee Kyung: 30 seconds silence scene of Jae Yeol and Hye Soo in the bathroom

Noh Hee Kyung: A scene where two actors' expression of their emotions with their eyes and involvement of thoughtful directing and camera lighting which immersed you into the screen

2. Director Kim Kyu Tae: "My brother is not a dangerous person" Jae Yeol and Dong Min's scene

Kim Kyu Tae: Two brothers' painful story was so touching. A scene where commitment of actors' acting filled with feelings and the background  music blends well together.

3. Jo In Sung: 4th episode ending scene where Kang Woo's identity was revealed

Jo In Sung: This is a scene which impressed me a lot ever since I received the script and as an actor's point of view I paid so much attention on making the viewers take this scene more dramatically. The best scene which was on my mind for a long time and the most memorable.

4. Gong Hyo Jin: A night spent with Jae Yeol in Okinawa's night sea

Gong Hyo Jin: My heart fluttered ever since I got my hands on the script. Portrayed as Okinawa's beautiful night sea and atmosphere absorbed to Hye Soo's heart 120%. Scene came out beautifully, so it will be remembered for a long time.

5. Sung Dong Il: Melee scene where housemates showed their loyalty and become one for Soo Kwang in Beer house

Sung Dong Il: The shooting was fun and seeing on screen also put smiles on my face. Especially, when running away from the police, we ran a lot. We ran again and again and it was really difficult, but it was good to hear that viewers liked it.

6. Lee Kwang Soo: "Feeling love again is a matter of one moment" A story about a cave which hasn't seen light for a thousand year

Lee Kwang Soo: Even as a man, I found the scene really new and thrilling. I remember imitating In Sung's line and facial expression in front of the mirror after I saw the scene on TV. I think many people thought "I wanna date" after seeing that scene.

7. Do Kyung Soo: Melee scene where people cared about complicated matter, not soccer

It was an atmosphere where something serious could have happened, but unexpectedly, it was represented lightly and brightly, so that I felt the reverse charm.

5 really good reasons you should be watching It's Okay, That's Love

If you haven't quite caught on to the K-drama crazy that is It's OK, That's Love, it's never too late to start. The drama is 10 episodes in and you still have time to catch up on all the fun. From story lines that have never really been touched upon, to a romance you can't help but get into and an amazing cast with immense chemistry, here are five reasons you should be watching It's OK, That's Love right now!

1. Gong Hyo Jin's amazing chemistry with her co-stars

If you have ever seen one of her dramas, then you know that the chemistry between Gong Hyo Jinand the main male lead will always be on point. And It's OK, That's Love is no exception to that rule. It's just amazing to see the scenes between Jo In Sung and Gong Hyo Jin! Everything is so believable that it makes the drama even more enjoyable to watch.

2. The drama covers topics that are usually avoided

I was really surprised at how this drama has been covering sensitive topics such as mental illnesses and sexuality. It's quite refreshing seeing these topics being talked about in a K-drama, and so far they haven't done it in a distasteful way. I hope they continue to present these issues well for the rest of the drama.

3. The cast alone should draw you in

Including Jo In SungGong Hyo JinLee Kwang SooSung Dong Il, and making his K-drama debut,Do Kyung Soo from idol group EXO, the cast alone should make you want to watch this drama. A great cast, a good storyline, and throw in some romance and a dash of melodrama and you've got a pretty good drama on your hands. Let's just hope some crazy plot twist doesn't get thrown our way.

4. The OST is beyond perfect and fits in so well with the drama

If there's anything else that makes a K-drama perfect, it's an incredible original soundtrack, and this OST is definitely on the road to becoming my personal favorite OST of this year. The song for each scene projects the feel of the drama really well so far. Enjoy some of the OST released so far below.

5. Kwang Soo's character's name is Soo Kwang

This one is purely for humor and fun, but seriously, writers, was this the most creative name you all could come up with for Kwang Soo's character? LOL! We love him either way, though.

"It's Okay, That's Love" Jin Kyeong says, "Jo In-seong is at his worst"

photo478801.jpg

Jin Kyeong claimed that Jo In-Seong's mental disorder was at its worst.

On the twelfth episode of the SBS drama "It's Okay, That's Love", Jo Dong-min (Seong Dong-il) worried about Jang Jae-yeol's (Jo In-Seong) mental disorder and decided to tell his wife Lee Yeong-jin (Jin Kyeong) about it.

Yeong-jin saw Jang Jae-yeol's strange behavior on CCTV and heard about his condition. She said, "It seems like his guilt towards his brother was great. It was for their mother but it would've been hard to testify against his brother as the murderer and live a normal like for a 16 year-old".

Jo Dong-min said, "He abandoned his brother for the sake of his mother who was being beaten up all the time, this is how he should be justifying himself but Jang Jae-yeol can't forgive himself. He's protecting himself with imaginary characters like Kang-woo (Dio)".

Jo Dong-min told Yeong-jin Jae-yeol's case had been going on for 3 years and she said, "It's not going to be easy telling him it's just a hallucination. You should tell Hae-soo (Kong Hyo-jin) right away. That's good enough reason for forced hospitalization".

The following preview of the drama showed Yeong-jin telling Hae-soo about Jae-yeol's illness and telling her that he could even kill himself.

Came across Writernim Noh's Journal #3 and her interests in collecting and reading stories of this genre - Painful Memories (book cover below).

---Translation of writernim's journal #3 (if interested, please read on...) ---

(Caution! Grab your tissues cos you will likely need them after reading...:(( Tears of sadness and joy! )

-----End of translation-----

What an eye-opener! I have oft suspected writernim of having a very 'colorful and eventful' growing up years. But this is beyond my imagination! Indeed, through her journal, that is obvious. There was no mention of her father. I wonder why? Was she growing up in a single-mother family?

How does one live through two abandonment, when once is already once too many? Do  you see shades of JJY in her childhood? I mean the poverty and the single-parent family? Perhaps even some form of child abuse like malnutrition due to extreme poverty? Hmmm....

I applaud her success cos she is so so so deserving of it, and more! So glad to finally be able to somewhat get a glimpse into writernim's past, which not surprisingly enabled her to be a better, an excellent writer. I am totally floored after reading her journal #3. My quest is to find her other 2 earlier journals. Hope you guys will like it as much as I do.

Writernim Noh....Thank you for sharing! Thank you for your words of wisdom! And Thank You for being strong and striving well! Fighting!

Are the jadecloud from soompi? thank you so much for all you translations and updates throughout the duration of the drama

I think we all suspected that writer Noh had had some experiences connected to IOTL, whether directly or indirectly. Reading her history is heart breaking and makes the morals/lessons learned from IOTL all the more poignant. Not only do I see hints of JY, but I recognise more of her in JB. JB was seen/treated as the problem child and was in a lot of ways abandoned by his family. And also their need to seek "revenge" against their families. Whilst there may have been a lot of resentment towards their mother; there is always that undeniable need to feel accepted and loved.

ohsolively ...Annyeong :)  Yes that's the same me    You are welcome!

I agree we do see shades of writernim in JB and JY, and I won't be surprised in HS too (fear of intimacy with the opp gender? I get that feel)

I feel that writernim is still suffering deep within from her fam's 'attempted abandonment' but she doesn't blame her mom or her grandma. She prob thinks it's all due to poverty. I too see shades of herself in JB, though just the ;revenge and trouble-maker part, not the violent behavior'. But I also see shades of her mom in JB and JY's mom, as well as HS' mom...the fact that she made JY/JB's mom 'dissociative' during the fire that caused her abusive spouse's death and hence a forgivable 'crime', and the fact that she made HS shoulder the blame for 'selling' her mom to Kim ahjussi and hence a forgivable infidelity - doesn't it all says a lot of her slack for moms and her special feelings for her mom despite what happened during childhood?!

Brilliant writer...bet she's a truly brilliant and warm person too.

Great point about the mothers. Seems like with her experiences, age and time, writer Noh was able to somewhat come to terms with her childhood and realise that her families circumstances and social context contributed in their behaviour towards her and to each other.

I do wonder if her and her mother/family were able to rebuild their relationship or at-least reach a place of forgiveness and understanding before she died.

Great to see IOTL doing so well on all formats (especially online platforms); kind of surprising considering the non traditional kdrama plot and provocative subject matter. Hopefully this urges more drama's to explore other themes rather than the just standard romance genre.

-

So she released her all her journals as books? Hope you manage to track them down because they are very interesting imo. In regards to writer Noh's relationship with her mother, I'm wondering if she's speaking from a place of regret and hindsight (as in she only reached this level of understanding after the death of her mother) or whether she and her mother were able to talk things through as adults. Or a combination of both (most likely). Maybe the ending of IOTL will give us an insight into how things were left.
