Starting with TVXQ’s comeback in the beginning of January, the agency recently announced that Girls’ Generation would also be making their official comeback with the song “Mr. Mr.†Yet, there is much more in store for 2014, as SM has been preparing for their artists’ comebacks. In a recent interview with SM Entertainment’s producing team leader, Lee Sung Soo, the agency revealed their plans for 2014.The producing team leader commented, “After TVXQ’s and Girls’ Generation’s comebacks, the agency plans to make another EXO comeback. Also we have two surprise projects that will be released within the first half of the year. For Super Junior, we have been preparing their new concept since the end of last year. In f(x)’s case, we have been working with our ‘Teddy Riley’s Writing Camp’ program, and our composers are writing new songs very diligently.â€It is only February, and yet we are excited to see what more SM Entertainment has in store for us this year. 2014 will be a year full of comebacks for SM artists! What more does SM need to solidify Exo's position? Exo has pretty much already solidified their position with 4+ daesangs last year, a song Growl that made impact in Korea, best-selling albums and many other awards they gotten in just in their 2nd year. Their feat was a feat not even Big Bang or SNSD were able to pull off at their 2nd year. What more do they want? I see that SM is quite greedy and selfish by overworking the boys. Exo need to rest and chill after all their hardwork and making money for SM last year otherwise they'll suffer from burnout. People are gonna get sick and tired of them. Not to mention, their upcoming Japanese debut. I see SM shipping them off to Japan during second half of the year and overworking them there. It will be painful to wait so long for a new comeback and I already have withdrawal symptoms (OTL), especially after a year like 2013 (we've been spoiled so much lol), but I know the wait will be worth it. If you look at EXO's situation, there are still somethings to worry about. 1. People called them "the trend", not "established group". Not only because they are rookie, they rise too fast but also because their situation can't be made sure. The next year, there will be another trend. 2. Their sales doesn't equal with public recognition. They sell like top group. All their Korean version sell > 220k, even MAMA, even MID - a special album with no fansign. But look at CF, they have 6 CFs (IVY club, Sunny 10, Nature republic, LTE, Crucky, Boong Boong Boong Racing), 2/6 have been there since MAMA era. The individual jobs: Suho's Saving Santa, D.O.'s Cart, Baekhyun & Suho's Inkigayo MC and end. You think when other SM groups don't promote, they can stay at home or travel somewhere. No. They host show/ radio/ event, they have concert, drama, movie, musical, event, Japan activities... EXO need this comeback to establish themself, to make sure they can comeback once a year and people still support them. I already heard about the concert and Chen's musical. Maybe it's a rumor, Wait and see. About Japan, I don't think they will promote so much here like DBSK or SHINee. I think they will be like Super Junior, just release album, have concert. OT12 really isnt fair to EXO-M's members OT12 promotions did wonders for Xiumin and chen's popularity, they were barely recognized in china.
