ethereal 20,923 Posted May 25, 2017 Share Posted May 25, 2017 here's the thing, some big3 ect fans seem to have this elitist notion that "the big3 doesn't care about other artists" or that "why would the big3 waste the're time doing this and that". these people are living in a fantasy world tbvh. this isn't 2010 people. the big3 have very real competitors these days. they're not some gods incapable of being jealous. i just want to put something in perspective in regards to bts real quick. bts' did nothing to get attention in the US. absolutely nothing. but the big3 have countless times invested in US advancements that in most cases were a loss. you think these big businesses that PAY people to do market research aren't upset at that? aren't bitter? i'm just saying, think about it. i won't accuse of things i don't have genuine proof of, but i will say the big3 care more than you think and they have a hold over the k-entertainment industry that people take too lightly. way too lightly. armys get called delusional when bts has constantly be degraded and downplayed and overlooked ALL of their career. they make history almost monthly and there are still cases of the korean media acting up when it comes to them. fans looking from the outside in don't seem to get that. i just had to rant. that one thread got closed before i could say anything. Big 3 are being accused of controlling the Korean media because they don't acknowledge a group from a small company who won an award that's not really considered as a big accomplishment in their country's music industry. Edit: I really don't think they'd be that salty though seeing that they have their own situations within their label that needs to be answered. Pretty sure in the old days chaebols would just hire goons to intimidate their rivals. In Kpop they proabably use interns to spread nasty rumors + influence news sites to make certain stories viral. masakio 6,815 Posted May 25, 2017 Share Posted May 25, 2017 it's still a business. as with any business, they're concerned about how competitors are doing. the big 3 invested a lot in Western advancements (Se7en, Boa, WG, CL, etc) and none of them were successful. Clearly, they will look at what their competitors are doing to figure out how they should improve on their own strategies.
