Oh my, only one glance and I see names of artists I love like Flume, Marina & The Diamonds, Tinashe, Stromae, and my all-time favorite band (with Nine Inch Nails): Sigur Rós. Holy fuck, how can I say no to all this, 2nd round is coming out STRONG!

Now onto listening to all songs!

I'm French and I didn't even know who Kendji Girac was 2 minutes ago, and all I can think about is why does he look like he's 35 years old while he's supposed to be barely 20 years old. Also, please, French pop can be so much better than this ;_; the song is kinda catchy and the beat is good tho

You didn't follow The Voice, right. He's pretty popular.

Not at all, I don't watch television, much less French television. Or only ONCE a year: for the Eurovision imstupid.png

And even then, Graham Norton is a much better and funnier MC than the French ones could ever be.

France should have choosen indila or maitre gims, the song is ok but their was more potential?

Not a fan of them either, but they would already be slightly better yeah. Although I'm really not a fan of Maitre Gims non-stop abuse of the autotune in a way that is grating to the max. At least Indila's voice is pleasing to listen to.

As a French to represent our country I would have chosen Indochine... I guess I need to renew my French music selection as Indochine is getting pretty old

Indochine is never a bad choice.

I'd personally love for Yelle or Owlle to represent French Pop, among others. Even Woodkid, ffs. Bring some quality music fam! We also have one of the best electro scene in the world, where are the likes of Justice, Daft Punk, M83, Kavinsky or Vitalic?

Listened to all of the entries, and while I recognize how good this batch is, I'm also sad I don't have a crush on any song in particular, at least not like I've been and still am crushing on Germany's song.

While there were songs from artists I love a lot, I feel like... they were mis-picked? Every time I'd listen to them, in y head I'd list songs from the same artist that I love soooo much more and are so much better in my opinion. I still loved them though, but for each of them I already had "crushes" and would have loved to see them submitted instead.

- Flume:

, or
are pure gems. Not sure remixes would be accepted though. (I still really loved Say It though)

- Marina & The Diamonds: defo would have preferred

,
,
&
(my all time fave). Blue is still nice though, but I went straight to listen to those again after finishing listening to Blue. Marina has a fire discography though, it's hard has hell to chose just one track, so I feel for the one who had to do it :'D

- Tinashe: Sorry, I just love

so much <3

- Stromae: I like Quand C'est, and Stromae is one hell of an artist, but I don't know, I'll forever resonate to

(though I suspect it might not have been possible to use it, might have been used before) and
(but I jam to
&
as well).

- Sigur Rós: The MV was stunning, but is also probably highly what makes the song better.  I mean, it's Sigur Rós after all, so I wasn't going to be disappointed, but would have loved to see

,
, or even, if one wants something more poppish & happy,
. I'd even argue that Jónsi (Sigur Rós' main singer/composer) solo album would have been a great pick as well, since they're slightly more pop while retaining the ethereal musical identity of Sigur Rós: Around Us, Boy Lilikoi, Grow Till Tall would have been great as well <3

That been, said, if I had to pick 10 songs, I'd pick those:

1 - Australia

2 - Iceland

3 - Belgium

4 - Greece

5 - China

6 - USA

7 - Israel

8 - Lebanon

9 - Poland

10 - Albania

Was hesitating between Albania, Morocco & Denmark for 10th place, but decided my top needed to end with one fierce bad binch on a sick beat.

Special mentions to:

Poland for the Iamamiwhoami teas, kinda

Morocco for the M.I.A's Bad Girls teas and the nice beat and sick costumes

Malaysia for the Fort Minor's Where D'You Go teas

Denmark for the lowkey highkey Lady Gaga teas

Russia for the lulz.

France for the nice instrumentals smh can't believe I'm complimenting this song

India for reminding me Bollywood music is dope (and then I went on to jam on to

, oops) because Shah Rukh Khan is forever a hottie

Israel for the uncanny valley of the main singer kinda looking like my ex-boyfriend now ain't that awkward

and I wrote another novel why does this always happen when I have to judge songs, someone please just fucking stop me already

The first time I listened to Israel, the song started off and I was listening to it with a bit of disinterest but suddenly it grabbed my entire attention and I was shook by the time I got to the end.

Yeah, it got the same effect on me. At fist I was like "meh, boring" then before I knew it I was feeling the feels, replaying the song, downloading the album and learning more about Hebrew and Amharic languages. Yeah, it just does that to you.

btw, I enjoy your mini reviews, you should really play or judge some of the other song games on OH ohbi.png

Ahah thanks, I'm always afraid I'll bore people to death with them, as I find myself exhausting at times, but I just... love music, heh, that can't be helped. As for reviews, I'm waiting for Jaewoo to ever make that Kpop title songs Top100 event in order to review them, that'll be fun raepfaceplz.png (that is, if it is still in his projects to do so!)
