Are there idols who positively influenced you?

Suga helped me a lot. I relate to his lyrics a lot and I have the same kind of mannerisms as him. I have very lethargic tendencies, would hole myself up in my room forever if nobody dragged me out, plus other stuff. 'Never Mind' helped me a lot because of a single line in it.

2ne1's music helped me a lot during a difficult time of my life, there was some point in time where I couldn't stand up and continue but when I started stanning 2ne1 I think I became more positive, their music encouraged me, and seeing the members as who they are, watching 2ne1TV, etc it made me feel happy, and I didn't feel happy most of the time back then, but they made me feel happy.

I'm trying hard to explain this, but honestly, I don't think I can put words on the amount of positive influence 2ne1 had on me, 2ne1's music is my closest friend even though 2ne1 members don't know about my existence, I love them dearly and I miss them greatly.

SHINee Key.

He has talked about accepting and appreciating himself even though he knew he lacked in certain aspects idol-wise. but that doesn't mean he gave up on his own self-growth, he will just show them who he is in his own way. I have tendencies to compare myself to other people, so remembering his words about this helped me a lot.

While talking about beating out a 8000:1 audition and debuting at 18, he said, "I thought I was a swan then, but I wasn't. At the time, there used to be celebrity search rankings, and out of the 5 SHINee members, I was always last place. One day, I (realized that I was) a chicken swimming among the swans. But at one certain moment, i questioned why i just had to become like a swan? could it be the case that i am a chicken? it’s impossible that everyone is a swan. if a chicken is just what i am then i should just showcase myself like i am a chicken."

And IU, about 'haters', long before her "Palette" single. She made me realize that maybe a little bit 'hate' is needed to keep ourselves grounded, not everybody is going to like you. The hate might not be completely stoppable, but if she can see it in different perspective and benefit from it, then I believe I can too.

Fan: What's your favorite snack?

IU: Hardtack biscuits!

Fan: What are female fans to IU?
IU: They are like the star candy inside bags of hardtack biscuits (traditional bags of biscuits come with tiny packets of star candy)

Fan: If female fans are star candy and uncle fans are biscuits, what are anti fans?
IU: Milk?

Fan: Why are anti fans milk?
IU: Because you get thirsty when all you eat are biscuits so you need a gulp of milk to maintain a balance.

That basically translates to receiving only love might make her cocky so she needs even a bit of hate to keep her grounded so she doesn't lose her roots.

Also, BTS Suga's mixtape kinda helped me in some way. There's a track where he talked about his depression, and it made me realize...depression shouldn't be shameful to talk about, it's a real illness that needed the right treatment, so don't be scared to reach out for help and get diagnosed by real professionals. Never, EVER self-diagnosed if you don't have the qualifications for it since it's disrespectful for people who has it.

EDIT: Found the track
