idol producers get less flack from their fandoms?

this is something I've been thinking about after seeing all the vitriol directed at JYP, a producer who has many hits under his belt but is prone to the occasional mess.

I don't really notice idol producers getting much flack from their fandom if the group decides to promote with a song composed by them. Let's be honest, there are some pretty mediocre idol compositions that were neither good songs nor successful with the public

it's just interesting to me that producers like JYP, Brave Brothers, etc are targeted with so much hate if their song for a group doesn't meet expectations. yet fandoms are ok with their idols releasing bad songs if it's composed by one of the members

*excuse you!!*  are you implying Boom Boom isn't a bop?? 5cF9Biq.png

haha, i think alot of it is just the freedom of choice.  There's a difference between being being assigned a shitty song to perform, or respecting an idol who put their all into a song even if it turns out shitty.

because fandoms will obviously be nicer with a member of their fave group? they're biased towards them...

so what you're telling me is that these idols need to be babied and can't handle constructive criticism?

boom boom is terrible. it shouldn't even exist.

about your second point, wouldn't that be even more infuriating for some members. like, they could've promoted a better song but had to settle with their member's composition because they want the glory of being called an idol producer.

I used to stan cnblue and ngl I always wondered if lee jonghyun hated yonghwa because they always promoted yonghwa's basic ass title tracks

Companies should follow Bighit steps tbvh

They let them practice with bsides and even then a lot of times their work is not accepted through the house producers.

You let them practice until they can be self produced idols like Suga who most of the times creates masterpiece like his solo or his mixtape

i notice this too but it makes sense bc a lot of fans love everything their faves do so if an idol composes/writes a song the fans still praise it even if the song isn't that great.

i think it's also bc the fans feel more connected (?) to the song, since one of the group members made it instead of an in-house/company or other producer

yeah I think it's kind of foolish though. if they're song isn't good or doing well on the charts, someone needs to tell them. I used to stan cnblue and I honestly think one of the reasons for their decline was because no one ever tried to tell Yonghwa that his songs were really basic and repetitive.

Fans are biased against their idols, it's an obvious reason.

Imo a lot of idols compositions are snooze-fest. But hey, at least they are willing to learn little by little. Personally i like woozi's and jinyoung's songs.

I've never stanned cnblue but i still think yonghwa's songs were actually good 0u0plz.png

I have a one big gripe against BigHit, is that they failed GLAM, and then dropped them once BTS started to become popular, yet kept them in tons of debt, resulting in that blackmailing incident.
