Ok I get it now and found the common denominator.

The user who submitted Kurdistan advertised their song in the BTS thread and probably sent a PM to their friends to vote for it. This is sadly turning out to be a popularity contest over an actual song quality contest, bummer.

Guess I'll get my advertising on then!

the majority of the points come from other players. people had the same concerns last year, but the points system evens it out.

 

this was what i brought up with overseer about public pollings =/

 

there are fairer ways to do this but it would take a lot of time to implement.

I could see a rule about having to vote for more than one option for it to be validated. That'd help and force people to give a listen to at least more songs than the one they're being told to vote for. Better yet, make them have to vote for 5 contestants total (or 10, like we had to). And disqualify their votes if they don't.

Honestly can't wait for part 2 of semi-finals. Cause for all the salt and shade I throw, I'm mostly so damn happy to discover new songs, I've discovered quite some gems through this part 1, and can't wait for part 2 to do the same!
