Does the industry have something against Leo? He's one of the most expressive and passionate actors of our time. He plays each character so well and really commits to his roles. Why don't people acknowledge this?

It wasn't meant to be sadly.

He had no chance against McConaughey honestly.

Wolf of Wall Street was up against good competition :(

I personally sees his excellence and cant understand why the academy doesn't

This will be the enduringly unpopular opinion. But although I think Leonardo DI Caprio is a very good actor, I think he's more well liked for his public image and association with blockbuster hits than real appreciation for his acting. And also, I do not think he deserved an Oscar nomination for his portrayal in "The Great Gatsby", I just don't feel like he characterized the iconic character well enough. I don't think he's being snubbed, I think people, and women especially, are taking his public appeal and think this should translate into him being accoladed for just existing really.

You don't give an actor an Oscar because of their previous works, or for their commercial success. It's awarded based on a specific role. And his performance in "The Great Gatsby" just wasn't up to par, especially when put up against the slew of very well done films this past year.

Well I mean, it's not a "you're a good actor" award, the merit is based on how much you brought out of your role aligned with that of every other nominee. I watched DBC yesterday, made me realize that McConaughey did not rob anyone of an award, he did an amazing job.
