sistar's I like that and vixx's shangri-la are both recent examples of kpop trying to incorporate traditional music into pop music and imo both failed. surprisingly, I think SM actually did a better job with Ten's station song that no one paid attention to:

although if we want the best examples of how to incorporate traditional music into pop music, look no further than Jay Chou & Wang Lee Hom:

Tbh I agree, I really liked VIXX's concept and the MV was beautiful, but I found the song a little lacking and I wish they had kept the traditional instrumentals throughout the whole song.

The instrumental of Ten's song is one of my favorite's.

I would like to see Kpop release something like Flower's Nettaigyo no Namida

I mean the OP is literally calling Vixx's song a failure and just trying to promote an sm station release. So...

I called it a failure in its attempt at sampling traditional music. The song had potential but ultimately falls flat in its execution. How is that hating.

they didn't "promote" anything, they just said the song makes better use of traditional music. they didn't say vixx's song was bad either, just that it didn't incorporate traditional music properly.

why do you assume all criticism is "hate"
