Why do people accord so much importance to what "knetz" think?

Whenever there's a comeback or even when the smallest things happen, some people immediately run to check what "knetz" have to say about it & some even base their arguments on it.

knetz said this knetz said that

Who cares? Does it really matter? They're people just like you and I, they're not one body with the same thoughts and opinions, everyone thinks differently & knetz are just as capable of trolling. Or am I missing something?

It gives more of an idea of what Koreans think about stuff since none of us can actually know for sure since we don't live there~ But there are times when people place too much of an importance on what KNetz say~

I don't think it matters that much when it comes to music, I agree with the last part

but they buy sings ur faves release, so...

so that makes their opinion somehow more valuable? also what makes you think i don't buy my faves releases, there are plenty of online stores where sales count towards korean charts

because they're the main customers + our faves' careers depend on them

remember when knetz fucked t-ara over?

that is exactly the problem

Exactly. Knetz opinion is not word of god.

People make the mistake of thinking what a couple people say on the Internet "Knetz" is representative of the Korean gp as a whole. No. It's only the people who care and have the time to comment about a song

i made my reply a bit more direct

anyways, i don't think u made 100k accounts on Melon just to buy your faves song, so your lil purchase is only the one digit at the end of how much they sell - don't try to convince me that international fans contribute so much to digital sales, because u must be deluding yourself if you think it's true

it's just that simple, my faves release a song, i might like it or not, i want to see if Koreans like it bc i like when my faves are succesful bc beign succesful gives them a steady career, whether you get influenced by Knetz opinion or not is ur own personal problem and different matter altogether right?

They're the closest to an actual local opinion on how well our groups get/could get received. Just look at idols or groups who have scandals and suddenly don't do that well anymore.

Why do people care so much about Knetz? Why do people care so much about what is written in the bashing thread? People don't like it when you don't agree with them, and considering that many fandoms are basically organized religious cults by now, I reckon there would be a return of the Spanish Inquisition if we weren't all separated by computer screens.

every "lil brick" counts, you're not supposed to buy 500 copies of your fave's album, if you want to that's fine go ahead but that isn't the point lmfao. also i never claimed international fans contributed "so much" to digital sales (unless you have a bigger fanbase WW like BTS) so you can hold off on the baseless accusations.

"whether you get influenced by Knetz opinion or not is ur own personal problem right?"

that's the point of the discussion

which is completely valid & understandable, my question is why do people decide that a song is good or bad for instance based on what "knetz" think

Knetz have low standards. They prefer a group with good visuals over good music.

what makes you think that? i'm genuinely curious, +

I don't think that's really a thing? If one already doesn't like/or likes a song, they may take comments from K-netz that support their opinion because they are actually from that specific country that buys from the korean music market.

Also, a person's personal opinion on a song and that same persons opinion on how good a song is for another country can differ.

Because KNetz directly affect the success of your favorite group/idol you follow.

Domestic success >>> International.

International makes up for it in concerts but KNetz and Korean GP is a good measuring stick if the group will succeed or not.

It's not that they're better but they're vital for an act to succeed. Because surprise! It's called KPop for a reason. Korean?

I'm guessing validation and legitimacy ? Like they are korean ppl from korea so their opinion can be seen as reflective of what their society like/dislike. Knetz are mostly brought up when one want their opinion to have more legitimacy, at least it's how i'm seeing this.
