Maybe it could be the same with groups? That said I would not dislike a group just because everyone else does. If I did not like the music or had other reasons I would just ignore the group and listen to what I like, so I would never be in my dungeon listening to groups I don't like the music from. But people can get so vicious with Twice (and BTS). It goes beyond opinion on the music, and just wanting to bash because a) they're bitter b) they want upvotes and ~unique~ points. Calling them talentless trash, slut shaming them, cursing them out, constantly bashing them, mass downvoting their videos, etc is not simply having an opinion on their music. I hate to say this, but my bias are going through the same thing. 'Fans are the image of the artists themselves and vice versa'. Like in BTS and Twice situation, they are good people with talents and good songs, just when extreme fans doing shit, it's a fact that it will reflect to the group too. I respect that there are people that don't like BTS music and that's absolutely okay, it's in your own right but constant trash talking all the time/ hating means you are probably mad your faves aren't as big or don't want BTS to be as big as your faves in which case I can't prescribe a cure for pressed.
