T-ara, Kara, Miss a and F(x) were also common answers. Yet interestingly enough none of them are the current #1 kpop girl group. Wonder Girls were at one point and deservingly so. Hardly anyone answered SNSD other than typical Sones. Should any of these groups ideally have been more deserving of the title than SNSD because of their consistently solid discographies? I think most people know their "brand" because they have been marketed well. Gee with the Oh! follow up were incredible songs that were immensely popular. Most of Korea doesn't really pay attention to kpop as such, so it makes sense that other bands are finding it hard to be recognised if nobody is looking. 2NE1 have a recognisable brand. But they don't do variety as such and I think that might let them down from being the number 1 a little. BEG are older than most girl groups and aren't really in the spotlight because they care more about music quality. JYP's marketing of WG collapsed after America. The netizens hate T-ara and the public doesn't give a s**t Kara is "background popular" f(x) is marketed oddly too, because SM focuses on SNSD and SNSD's Reign isn't going away soon - so they don't need to really try with f(x) because they'll have the new girl group out to make money soon. f(x) is their back-up plan. If SNSD ever goes down the drain they will market f(x) like there is no tomorrow if the new girl group doesn't succeed. miss A is Suzy. Sorry. They've had two or three good title songs that the public loved, but Suzy is the anchor and the whole group needs to be at least little popular for them to succeed. Dorky 274 Posted March 2, 2014 Share Posted March 2, 2014 Since I'm a "TYPICAL SONE" I'll say SNSD But if your talking about groups other than SNSD since you say you always expect the answer from a typical sone to be SNSD I'll say after SNSD it'll be f(x) because of the unique image and sound they have ... but that's if SM is smart enough to promote them well....
