Lately I think this term is used too loosely,

everyone is calling their faves / people who competing with their faves digital monster when they are just good / very good digital sellers (mainly selling their title track) ..

 

My  criterias for digital monster are
Mini Album (5 songs)  2.5 mill ++ downloads
Full Album (10 songs)  3.5 mill ++ Downloads

 

Typically good / very good digital sellers :
Mini Album (5 songs) : 1.5 - 2 mill downloads

Full Album (10 songs)  : 2-2.5 mill downloads

 

Digital monster acts : BigBang, 2ne1, Akmu , IU , busker2 (group and solo) , Sistar (till 2014, post 2014 i think their digital album sales regressed)

Good / Very good digital sellers : Mamamoo, Exo , Gfriend, davichi, Zion T , PSY , Miss A

 

So do you think digital monster term is used too loosely or not ?

or  am I just too tight with my criteria?

Adding more things ..

OST should not used to determine Artist selling power ..

OST is like 80-90% about the drama not the artists ..

About twice , i think they are very good digital seller which currently over-performed (their title track sold very very very well)  due to huge momentum they have , i am interested to see if they can keep their momentum when they away for +- 1 year for tours and JPN promo

Winner and Ikon release too few albums to properly judge them ..

 

I think twice is very good digital sellers that riding hard on momentum and selling their title track very very very well ..

BTS is currently just good digital seller , maybe they can lift their status on their next CB

They only have one song with more than a million downloads, that's not a digital monster.

Gaon should really consider bringing back the Top 400

Fire had more public recognition than BST.

 

But I'm not even claiming BTS are digital monsters tho?

So you read the part where OP said they were "good digital sellers" and decided to get mad anyway. The thread is about digital monsters, OP listed their criteria and BTS has yet to meet it consistently. Then you go off on a rant about selling well as if OP denied that they did. What?
