Do you ever feel bad for liking kpop?

One thing that always bothered about liking kpop

is that it's fucking shallow, everything is all about appearances

plastic surgery and the fact that you have low to no chances of succeding

if you don't match the cookie-cutter looks

evebody is free to get ps if they want,I don't care what people do,

with their faces and bodies but it's just frustrating to always be looking

at the same kind of people like would a little bit a diversity kill you?

plus it give unrealistic standards to korean girls And boys

then you have their whole system

with slave contracts, insane working hours and schedules

pressure coming from fans and companies to be

a flawless human being which is just not possible

dating bans like the fuck, I never understood that concept

isn't dating part of your private life?

what does it have do to with you ability to perform and do your job?

plus the sole point of kpop just about making money

like I love buying kpop merch I think they are incredibly well crafted

and I like to think that I buy them for all the people that worked hard on it

but then I can't help but feel bad because I'm basically giving my money

to rich old men that don't give a fuck about creativity

and all the groups I stan are basically just a product

of marketing researches and in a way there's nothing genuine about it all

I know some of things I said higher are not only true to the kpop world

and it's just capitalism in general that works this way

but when I buy cheap clothes made that a poor chinese child

it's because I have no choice I don't have enough money to be buying

clothes from fair trade and I can't go around walking naked especially

when it's cold, but I mean liking kpop and feeding into the system is not mandatory

sometimes when I consider all of these I just feel bad about being a kpop fan

but I just love entertainment too much

sorry if this comes off as being super serious lol

it's not as though if I stop staning kpop groups and supporting them

all of this will stop anyways

If you look at it that deep...

But isnt everything in the entertainment business superficial? Why single out Kpop?

On the rare occasion I see some fans acting cringey and doing/saying things that are straight up embarrassing. Especially if it's happening in person, like they're in front of me acting all weaboo. Or even when they're being problematic in general. Then yes, I regret being a part of this world.

it's true pretty much every entertainment business is superficial

but I don't actively support western artists like I do with my favorite kpop groups

plus I feel like in north America for instance you have a higher chance to make

even if you don't have a contract with a recording company

but in Korea, not so much

I feel the opposite, there are so many groups and yes not all make it, but if you join at least the big three youre kinda guaranteed a lil more succes then others. And with kpop yeah I think its more superficial, you just have to have a pretty face and youre pretty much set. I find making it in America way harder. Could you imagine some of those visual kpop idols making it in America with their ''talent''

So if I were you I wouldnt think about it so hard those thoughts arent gonna make you happy~~

I cant relate thankfully, my faves dont have slaves contracts, they have freedom at the moment to create their stuff, if im not mistaken they dont have a date ban, they did not have ps as far as im concerned and they are happy with what they are doing.

Yes they were put together but they are far from being a product.

Its all good at the end for me

No, not really. To some companies (and some unfortunate groups) it may be about competition and money but we see our idols are genuinely happy. They're living their dream and even though it has some setbacks, it's all apart of their journey. That's why I can't feel bad for liking kpop.

Not mention the same could basically could basically be applied to other groups like in western music.
