What are your thoughts on uniqlo?

I have a lot of stuff from uniqlo because it's affordable and useful since they carry a lot of basics. I like their collabs too

also their airism underclothing is really useful in the hot-ass soon-approaching japanese summer

You're Japanese? I read in Chinese websites and forums that many Japanese are averse to being seen with uniqlo items because apparently it's considered a "cheap brand". May I know how true this is? I thought it'd be more accurate to get the perception of someone Japanese or someone living in Japan. Thank you!

Personally, I quite like their stuff too! It's comfy. That's an important factor to me.

I'm not Japanese, I just live here, but I haven't experienced that... I see people wearing uniqlo all the time and it's popular. maybe it has such a reputation among more affluent people, but idk lol.

ime it has a reputation for good quality despite its low price. there's actually another shop owned by uniqlo called GU which is even cheaper and has less high quality than uniqlo, but it's still decent for what it is, and it's useful for basic stuff, fashion shoes and trendy separates, so I shop there too sometimes. mostly for office clothes in my case, bc a lot of their stuff is plain and easy to coordinate

yeah comfort is important to me too. I know uniqlo is getting stick for contributing to the apparent death of Japanese street fashion, but I don't think it's the fault of uniqlo alone. I think it's just the result of changing trends. people in Japan are still very much into fashion, but minimalism and certain colour palettes are favoured right now, and uniqlo happens to cater to them well.

it's also a very useful shop because it's not restricted by age or targeted to anyone in particular - anyone can find something there.

I love Uniqlo, they're so comfyy (but slightly above the high end of my affordable range). Most of my office shirts are from Uniqlo. Their jeggings alone I have the same one in 7 different colors bc I like them so much.

well Uniqlo is considered fast fashion like Forever21 and H&M so...

I'm interested in their UV hoodie and their Heattech clothing, but I haven't bought anything from them. I'm interested in knowing if their Heattech clothes actually live up to their advertised claims, like would those Heattech Ultra Warm clothes really keep me warm in 40 degree weather and below?

I love how the clothes are like basic essential attire that I can mix & match all the outfit with pretty much everything, BUT it's still pricey imo... And there are a lot of cheaper version of those kind of clothes in online shops in my country.

I wore a Heattech long sleeve tee under a silk blouse in 40 degree weather last December. I definitely still needed a thick wool coat to be comfy.
