I actually hated speaking in public but my school is extremely fond of making students give presentations and speeches. At first I used to be really scared, but after a while they didn't affect me so much. I just try to go up there, raise my voice as much as possible and try to get it done. I'm still not very good but I can get them done without completely freaking out. One thing I noticed that always helps me is to look at one particular person in one section of the audience while speaking and then after some time, switching to someone else in another section. As soon as you enter the debate room/hall you have to think that everyone in this space are inferior idiots with inferior opinions. You're trying to persuade these crowd that your superior opinion is much better than the even more inferior opinions of the inferior opponent. Then, your opponents stands up. S/he are talking rubbish. There's so many idiotic opinions coming ot of his mouth. Your job is find find these weak spots of those stupid opinions and tackle them when you have the chance. Your turn to speak. Chins up, posture straight, keep in your head that you look better than Miss Universe herself (or if you're a guy then ). Start enlightening these whole bunch of inferior idiots. You get POI-ed. Simple, just another stupid idiotic question to answer. Keep your head clear and listen to every single shit that s/he says. Refute them with your superior opinions. And also you'll have to think that your partners are inferior too. so inferior that you have to cover up for their potential mistakes. if you keep this mindset, plus some practice and debating skills you'll be slaying those noobs.
