HRH Ayyu 4,199 Posted May 8, 2017 Share Posted May 8, 2017 okay, i applied for a new job. they said they wanted to give me a test run by coming in on wednesday for a 11am- 3pm. , to see how i do. i however work at my current job during those hours. i might be able to convince someone to swap shifts with me. but my work is super strict. you have to talk to the manager and give a really good reason why im swapping shifts for a day. and i cant really tell them its for a new job. Say you have an appointment for something important, could be with a doctor that is hard to get an appointment with so you couldn't say no to these hours even if you had to work (like an ophtalmologist) But it will not work if they ask for a certificate... its very last minute thought, i was told today about coming in this wednesday. lol. You can even negotiate making up for it other day also you don't need to go into much detail or a big elaborated lie, just tell is something very personal and you don't feel comfortable sharing that stuff with your manager. Can't the place that you're interviewing for get you an appointment for another day then? I think they would understand that u obviously dont want ur current boss to know?
