Do they have Fraternities & Sororities in the universities in your country or is that just a US thing?

They definitely did not exist in Germany when I used to live there. At least it is not widespread. My cousin got fed up with me when I asked her to explain to me the whole concept and purpose of fraternities and sororities her in the US.

Something I've observed is that fraternities and sororities are usually just a big thing in freshman and sophomore year. No one really cares about it anymore when you're a junior. I used to think that it's meant for the "cool" people, but later on I found out that participating in Greek life oftentimes carries a negative connotation here in the US.

We don't exactly have a whole structured organisation. It's more dependant on societies and also on your own personal connections. Like i am more active in my photography group vs my class group. Also i hang out more with those in the economics and applied arts dept. You just make a more diverse circle of friends.
