For me i can study for about 4 hours straight, but at the 4 hour mark i start to get tired so i usually nap or get on onehallyu, but i just cant focus after, so i end up just pushing the studying for the next day. But it piles up. i wanna hear some suggestions and tips to help me get better studying habits.

Since, it;s last week of the semester for many of us, good luck on your finals. hope you pass all classes! chuplz.png

just pay attention in class and you'll have more time for everything else

unless the teachers aren't teaching anything, then that just sucks

the only thing i ever find myself having to study is a foreign language

and then I'm off to 8+ hours free time

I could afford having horrible study habits in high school, I think I only studied for like an hour max before every test (not including homework) for all of my classes except for some of my AP courses and my provincial finals.

In university, I basically just study a little bit everyday (like an hour or two?) with like a 10 minute break every hour or so. I cram before finals/midterms, and will study for hours before taking a break during those periods of time

hm if you are studying from a text I would recommend highlighting important areas or some ppl ik make their own documents and spreadsheets. they print them out and highlight important areas and study the information from there.

I do tend to procrastinate a lot. I get side-tracked so often. But somehow I've mostly always been able to pull through and study enough to get a passing grade.

Though, I'm assuming your in college, so the workload is lot different for a highschooler.

I'm always easily distracted by people talking and I procrastinate a lot when I'm at home, so I always go to the library and study for a bit before I go home. I don't know if it will work for you, but listening to music (non-vocal ones) helps me out a lot. Epic OSTs, in particular, get me motivated. laugh.png

how do you study?

By reading over notes, reading the text book, annotating practice test book, reading up additional info over concepts I don't understand

how do you stay motivated?

By being a little delulu lol. I imagine that my bias said to me to study hard and do well on xyz assignment so I write it on a piece of paper and have a picture of them next to it and hang it up lol. I also give myself a reward like "if I study for 30 minutes, I'll give myself a five minute break to watch this MV"

how often do you take study breaks

Depends on what I need to get done and how long I have to do it. If I have say, an hour to study, I take a break once in the middle.

what do you do during your study breaks

Watch music videos or go get a drink, walk around a bit. Do something that isn't related to what I'm studying

how do you study for a long period of time without being fatigue

I keep a drink or snack around while I'm doing my studying. Like I'll have a bag of pretzels or something and nibble on those while I read the chapter. Just keep my mind actively engaged in what's happening.

share any tips, suggestions.

Know what you need to study, keep yourself motivated anyway you know how. Set a goal and stick to that goal, like studying for an hour every day leading up to the test. Review the things you struggle with the most, spend more time on concepts you don't understand and skim over the things you do understand.

not everyone can remember stuff from lectures, you know. I pay attention in class, but the instant I walk out that classroom door, I forget half of what was even said in the first place so I have to review my notes when I get home to refresh my memory. Plus it's harder for me to remember things said in an hour and a half lecture than a 50-minute lecture.

  4. what do you do during your study breaks chocolates to energize my brain cells
  5. how do you study for a long period of time without being fatigue I study only like 2-3 hrs, no more than that because I need to sleep and rest my brain cells.
  6. share any tips, suggestions. plan first on what are the things ur going to focus for today and make sure not to study for long period of time. Usually every after I learn some parts of the topic I answered questionaire (20-30items until I reach 100items/day)

Do you happen to be on your first year of college by any chance? The same thing used to happen to me on my first year.

The transition from highschool to university is not an easy one and it will take time for you to get used to it. My best piece of advice is : don't drop out and try your best not to lose motivation.

The reality is, there are not any 'secret' or magic tips when it comes to studying. You will have to sit and read for hours, that's how it works.  Paying attention in class obviously helps to grasp the basics of a subject but in college that is not enough.
