OHvision song contest 2017 is coming!!!!!

 

Onehallyu has grown over the years, bringing all sorts of different international Asian music fans  together.

this contest/ game will give players the chance to introduce their favourite songs/ music from their home countries or other places in the world. (and win prizes ofcourse)

 

last year 25 songs representing 25 different countries competed on Onehallyu for 2016 OHvision song contest.

 

 

Malaysia was victorious as 2016 winner.

 

 

 

Due to the overwhelming response to last year, OHvision song contest 2017 will be bigger with the introduction of semi finals.

 

This means up maximum 75  entries representing 75 countries can participate. 

 

that means maximum of 75 unique songs from all over the globe.

 

This is not the sign ups, but a heads up for when the sign ups are.

 

 

How to play

 

 

PHASE 1

  Pick a country to represent.

 

 

- Each player picks a country they want to represent then pms me the artist and a song.

e.g - country; England. (pms me  "tinie tempah- girls like")

 

 

PHASE 2

 

Semi finals and voting.

There will be 3- 4 semi finals. where countries with the lowest score will be eliminated.

there are 2 diffrent ways to get points, players and OH poll.

During the player voting phase , fellow semi finalist players/contestant who picked the songs will give points to their favourite top 10 songs in their semi final. They are not allowed to give themselves any points.

 

e.g

 

the top-ranked song getting 12 points

, the 2nd -highest ranked song 10 points,

3rd - 8 points

4th - 7 points

5th - 6 points

6th - 5 points

7th - 4 points

8th- 3 points

9th- 2 points

10th- 1 point.

 

 

any song not ranked in the top 10 by the player gets 0 points.

the OH Poll where users vote will give the top 10 triple points.

 

 

 

 

the highest scoring 7 (from combination of poll+ player points,  ) from each semi final automatically make it through, while the next 4 highest scoring losers of all the semi finals will make it through as wild cards.

 

PHASE 3

 

Final

in the final, the top 25 songs battle it out. with all 75 players/countries, even the one who failed the semi finals, will vote for their top 10 along with the OH poll.

 

 

 

 

 

How is a winner decided?

the winner is the song with the most points in the final, with players given points + OH poll scores. 

 

 

 

Rules

To make it more fair certain rules must be followed when it comes to picking the songs/ country you would like to represent.

 

 

 

 

1. no one can pick Korea or japan. this includes ex kpop idols (luhan, kris) or j artists promoting in america.

 

2. only one player can represent 1 country, so if someone claims Spain , no one else is allowed to represent Spain.

 

 

3. you cant pick an artist who had a top 5 US billboard single.

 

4.- the artist doesn't have to sing in the language of the country you pick, if they are e.g half Spanish or ethically from the country you represent you can pick them.

 

5. no Eurovision songs.

 

6. The top 3 artists from  pervious ohvision contests cant ever be used again (e.g yuna, Zara Larsson, Dani im, cant ever be used again) however other artists not in top 3 can, as long as the same song from last year isn't chosen.

 

if none of the rules is followed i will ignore your pm and go down to the next pm. and you will have to get to the back of the que.

 

 

 

 

Sign ups:

 

this is not the sign ups, it a thread giving everyone a heads up about when the sign ups are.

 

The sign ups will be split in 2.

 

Asian time zone sign up

 

 

 

. America+ Europe sign up.

 

This is done to give people in different timezones the chance to sign up, since last years sign ups filled very quickly.

people are free to try to sign up during both, 

 

 

When i post the sign up thread (no sooner or it will be ignored) pm me a which country you would like to the represent along with a artist and a song via  youtube video link.

 

 

you can pm me maximum of 5 songs from 5 different countries in your OG pm as back ups. incase someone has already picked your first or second song/country.

 

if chosen you can change your artist or song after sign ups are over.

 

ohvison asian sign ups- 6th of may 10- 11ish am uk

 

 

Since the asian time zones users  dont get alot of events, they will get first pick when it comes to signing up.

 

At the asian sign ups there will be 25 spots available for 25 users to represent 25 countries/songs.

 

once that is full. the first 25 participants representing what countries will be stated, then sign ups will be locked untill american/euro sign ups.

 

American/euro sign ups 7th may 5pm- 6ish pm  est 

 

 

When i post the American sign ups 50 spots will be free. it will remain open untll all spots are gone,

so the people who can sign up for the asian time zone period can only come from users in asia?

 

or if there's 20 people signed up, and i wake up early (me being in the usa), can i sign up in time for the asian time zone period?

Edit: How old can the song be? And what time zone do asians follow?

there is no limit on the song, but it should be longer than a minute, and not as long as 15 mins. lol.
