Why are some gg fandoms so desperate to prove that their fan base is not majority male?

if you're not going to call names then why ask?

the answer is most domestic male fans are prone to jump ships to another trendy group less fans = less physical sales this hasn't really been proven but most of the time girl group with very stable fanbases can actually sell albums decently with or without lots of male fans  i.e A Pink SNSD G-Friend Twice f(x)

Call names for what? To be accused of being a troll or bashing? Its not that relevant since its not just that one fandom anyway.

Thank you for the response though, makes a lot of sense.

...um maybe because it's not necessarily true? Kpop fans are still predominantly girls.

Are fandoms of most girl group really predominantly girls though?....

ggs with large male fanbases are ridiculed for pandering to the 'male-gaze' and being nothing more than fap-bait (see: snsd, apink, twice, aoa) that will be dropped when the new hot thing comes to town, so their fans try and prove that they have female fanbases in order to show otherwise.
