Basically all his screentime, lol. But honestly Mnet probably doesn't have anything against Yongguk in particular, it's just that Mnet and the P101 PD suck in all ways conceivable.

Guys, I have a question. How fluent is yongguk's chinese? I want to listen to him conversing in chinese.

 

He's born and raised in China and from the small segments on the show where he spoke chinese I can tell he's fluent.

He's Korean-Chinese, so I would assume that he's fluent in Chinese (especially judging from the snippets we've seen of him speaking it).

 

From what I remember, he's ethnically Korean (or at least half Korean?) but his nationality is Chinese as he's from the Jilin province, where a decent number of ethnic Koreans reside among other ethnic groups. I think his mother is Chinese and his father is Korean, although I rarely see anything about his father so I'm not sure what his family situation is like. His parentage is still confusing tbh lol. Hopefully someone else in the thread has a clearer answer than I do since I don't know if there were any recent updates regarding this. 

 

Still can't believe this is him. Such a sharp contrast to his shy, unintentionally cute personality

But then mnet messed all that up and I was so bitter, and I still am, but seeing Yongguk interacting with Sihyun has made me feel better and I believe he has a bright future ahead of him :')

I know I was so excited when he got more screentime, but it made me so sad when he got absolutely none after that episode. I'm still grateful that they did though, especially since many other trainees didn't have any. Also because he gained new fans after that  . I was interested in him after seeing his ending cut in BIL, but did a double take during the bts of If It Is You because I definitely didn't expect his personality to be like that. 

 

As heart wrenching as it is that Jonghyun didn't make it to the final lineup (I still haven't watched the finale because of this lol), I'm considering re-watching this season just to see what other trainees catch my eye and catch more glimpses of Yongguk~
