Eh. I don't know what to feel about that.

Sorry for being negative about it, but I want him to be more recognized for his singing.

i completely understand, there are times i feel frustrated too. judging from his immortal song performances' naver tv views (link), it seems like he gets more recognition from within korea than internationally, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but i want more international kpop fans as a whole to know about his talents too (not just singing, he's good at so many things). sometimes i feel that some fans see jaehwan in a one-dimensional way??? like in p101, his image was "the serious guy, not suited to be an idol, only knows how to sing" and now his image is "the joker with the crazy laugh" and they can't take him seriously. i mean i absolutely love how funny he is on varieties, but that's not the only side to him you know. idk, maybe i think too much/i'm asking for too much......

But I kinda get you with wanting for Jaehwan to be more known for his singing than variety. That's my concern too for Ong. I hope that people will get to know that Ong is good in singing too and not just the funny guy in Wanna One.

 

I also had this concern for Jung Joon Young*. I liked his voice ever since Superstar K4 but right now, he is more recognized as a variety star than as a good vocalist. But I'm just happy seeing him have variety opportunities since he seems to be enjoying it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

i really like ong's voice too, and he's more than just a funny guy! love his impromptu collabs with jaehwan..... ahhh how i wish they can do a duet together, would love to hear their voices harmonising with each other ;;;  i think they sang together at the karaoke corner in zero base but no full clip was ever released sighs.

Also, we still have one more round for badge voting right? the old vs the final suggested one?? I'm hoping y'all to pick the better one. No offence but the reason why I didnt have jae's old badge is because i dont like it too much, lmao. But yeah, liking thing is preference. 

 

I like every positive video or fan taken vid of Jaehwan's whether it's about his singing or variety persona. Anything that can help him to secure his own fanbase later on after wanna one's career.  I dont expect him to be popular internationally, it's better to take everything slowly and that means find success on your home country first, if int'l ppl like you, then take it as it's just additional bonus.

the current badge is not the kinda style i like too but i had to get it regardless because i needed a jaehwan badge haha.

it's our jaehwan! i saw k-fans replying to a twitter user yesterday, but i'm not sure of the exact content of those posts. not sure if the twitter and naver search clearing is related to this.

IMO, he sounded a bit strained when singing 'Driver's High' But I'm still very happy he sang this.

 

 

yes, you can really hear his improvement over the years! these vids were released in september 2015, and his god's voice perfs in feb 2016 but i can already hear his improvement although it was only a short time in between.

I've checked the blog and someone already made a request for Jaehwan. But they haven't posted the result yet. Maybe they already stopped making voice analysis?unsure.png

Most of them saying that he's at the very least is at above average level. Not even yet in Good (EXO's Chen, D.O., JYJ's Junsu) category. In my amateur ears, he still often sounds strained.

I forget where I read it, but he had said that he often sang with a wrong technique in his Busking days. But he'd been fixing it, and IMO he sounds better now. I have faith that he will keep on improving since he's no longer an individual trainee and gets vocal coaches.

they will not analyse jaehwan until he debuts after wanna one (since it's a temporary group)

 

 

Anyway, 2017 vers. of Jaehwan's treasure:

IMO he sounds better than the 2015 ver.
