Donghyun is perfect for Brand New! Visuals and vocals, just that type.

 

Brand New Music isn't known for idols groups, they have many successful solo artists and duos, including their indie label. Much of them are not what you'd consider "idols", rather they are considered artists. So hearing that they're creating an idol boy band specifically is surprising when you compare that to BNM's current image.

 

And they had an audition? I googled it and apparently they did, I didn't know that.

This one surfaced recently. They changed the age cutline OTL.

Yeah I know what you mean and I'm aware of the company image. I just thought maybe the other trainees might have heard about it and considered auditioning for the BNM boy group. But that audition post was from around September last year so the PD101 trainees were probably all under a company already/not actively searching for another company to join anyway. 

 

Oh wow I guess they did publicize it? I'm surprised word didn't spread...

 

BNM houses a lot of amazing artists so I think the boys are in good hands musically. I would bet money on them being an instant hit when they debut.

 

(Also I hope Donghyun gets to release his songs under BNM's indie sublabel at some point. His songs are my jam. ahmagahplz.png )

I think the chances are pretty high! It would be a huge waste for him to not capitalize on their popularity right now. Plus fans have been spamming him about DongPaca/YoungDongPo/YDSG for days. He knows what we want.

 

 

I wonder if there's a higher chance of a DongPaca duo project or a StarshipxBNM collab. A DongPaca unit would probably have a high energy song like what Boys&Girls should have been (or JJProjects's Bounce hurrplz.png) while a StarshipxBNM collab would probably be a sweet acoustic coffee shop jam.

I dont have much to contribute to the thread, other than the fact that this dude has friggin ruined my life. He wasn't even my favourite but after watching his VLive I couldn't stop saving his photos lol. Add to the fact that hes so kind hearted and has so much love for his bnm members ugh I cant

 

I feel like anyone who takes the time to watch his vlive will develop a soft spot for him. Those 27 minutes really showcased his warm personality, smooth talking, sweet voice, and adorable smile. He's just so charming once you notice him! rlytearpls.png

So while we're waiting for BNM to let us in on what they're planning, let's appreciate Donghyun's taste in music.

Omg Youngmin mentioned Donghyun so many times in his vlive!

 

Here's a compilation of things he said about Donghyun:

 

- Donghyun was the one to come up with the alpaca nickname for Youngmin. He's really good at/really interested in finding look a likes. Youngmin didn't even know what an alpaca was before that and he was shocked by the resemblance.

 

- When asked for his nicknames for Donghyun, he said DongDongie and Buffalo (hurrplz.png), because of his middle part hairstyle. He then pretends to be surprised that fans prefer DongDongie.

 

- When describing each of the members, he says Donghyun is the moodmaker and makes everyone happy. He is also really good at taking care of other people. If anyone gets sick he gives them his medicine and takes them to the hospital. He then said Donghyun looks strong but is actually weak and follows that with "Just kidding~"

 

- The member he wants as a younger brother is Donghyun because he's so cheerful and makes the atmosphere so nice.

 

- The mom of the group is Donghyun, since he looks out for and worries for other people. Youngmin is the dad because he always gets asked to fix things.

 

- At the end, Donghyun makes a cameo and they do their little "Brand New!" intro! ahmagahplz.png

Btw im sorry to hear that some if the fansites of bnm including donghyun are actually sasaengs ;( im scared for my other boys too :(

Apparently dotcom has been following them since 2016? Thats such a long time :(

Omg he nails that part every time.

 

I saw a tweet about how the donghyun dotcom fansite owner followed him around and pestered him until he gave her a handwriting sample for her twitter banner. Sasaeng fans really have issues. :|

 

Now that I've thought about it but Donghyun has tried every position.. rap for Boys and Girls, vocals for Be Mine and IKYK and then dance for Shape of You. Multi talented king :ahmagah::ahmagah:

Taemin had an interview recently and when he was asked which trainees he was close too, he said he was close to "rap trainees like Moonbok and Donghyun."

 

Rap god Donghyun confirmed. xD
