The tempo puts them to sleep and makes it hard for them to care about the vocals or anything else really. I personally am exhausted by too many slow songs which is why (among many other reasons) I like groups like f(x) and Rania, their albums don't have as many slow tempo songs. I honestly think our generation has a bit of a collective short attention span (myself included) that keeps many people from appreciating slower stuff though. Like if you listen to popular music from the early 20th century (blues, etc.) it's so slow it makes something like Red Shoes sound frantic in comparison. And kpop songs that imitate disco make actual disco sound like a dirge. I'm talking songs like - off her album - Ending Scene. Some people just can't take songs at that pace. Especially back to back. It's mostly about preference. That would be really boring to them.
