Make-up professionals, help ~~

Recommended Posts

I'm so done with picking my foundation. I can't seem to realize what kind of skin tone I have (it's different all over the place tbh). I tried different shades (of lighter foundations since im like a ghost) but it's either TOO dark or TOO light like - ew. Should I choose my foundation based on my neck color ? Apparently that's a way to choose. I've been using make-up for 6-7 years now and I'm still not able to buy proper foundation. Or I should just buy 2 and mix-- which is not an option always cuz i'm broke most of the time.

I suppose there are answers to this in other threads but it'd take me long to go through all the pages. 0u0plz.png

Also a small reminder that your skin tone is actually changing. I have a summer bb cream and a winter bb cream. Both are the palest I could find for my ghost face as well, but the redness of my face usually goes out a little bit more in the summer so I use a more pink-based bb-cream, but it's not a 100% rule, I sometimes use it in the winter as well for the coldest days.

It's hard to find the good one that's appropriate for all the time. I have this problem too. I went to Sephora recently and while I found a matching well enough foundation after the sale assistant made me try 3 different ones, I still need a good concealer for parts of my face that may be a little different. I also learned that sometimes, no foundation or concealer on the good enough parts of your face makes it look way more natural.

So like many others, I'd say buy 2 and mix as you need it. Good luck!

PS: I'm no professional, I came to see the comments and decided to add my own story in case it helps.

Hi! I have experienced that too, during my newbie make up days. When I go for the light/nude beige, it's too light for me. When I go for the natural beige, it's too dark. So, I buy 2 shades coz I think I'm in between the light beige shade and natural beige. I'm also a financially challenged fangirl (lol) so I just buy the small tube. So 2 small tubes, 2 shades. So it's good,

But if I can only afford 1 shade (in a tight budget), I go for the light one. Foundations and bb creams will oxidize after a few hours.
