I just had a tooth extracted...

I had teeth extracted for braces, and I don't remember it being painful when the numbing agent faded. What you have to be careful about is the blood clot that forms in the now empty tooth socket, which if you pop will result in alot of pain, since its covering the exposed nerves. It rarely happens though, so I would just eat food on which ever side of your jaw that doesn't have the empty tooth socket.

I got 4 wisdom teeth removed and it was the worst pain ever, especially the swelling. They did 2 at a time so I had to experience the pain twice. But with normal teeth which I also had 4 removed for braces, it didn't hurt as much. They'll numb it and when it subsides, it'll not be as painful as you imagine. smile.png

It might feel unpleasant and I recommend taking pain meds if it starts really hurting but otherwise you're going to be fine and any pain you might have shouldn't be unbearable. Just make sure to not drink anything with straws (or in general don't try to suck anything because it might make the blood clot come out and trust me, you really don't want to get a dry socket) and try to avoid using that side of your mouth to chew food for a few days. Also make sure to take your antibiotics if your dentist prescribed you any.

I had 8 teeth pulled at once for braces when I was a shortie. You'll be so high that you probably won't even know your full name, let alone be able to identify any pain. Once the numb and high wear off, it will be time for your meds anyway so you'll be fine. The only truly annoying part is not being able to eay anything but baby food >.>

I've had several (and I mean six) teeth extracted at different times because of my braces and surprisingly, it wasn't painful at all when the numbing faded. And if it does hurt a bit, regular over-the-counter painkillers are more than enough to make you more comfortable. After a day I usually don't feel anything at all except that weird feeling of 'wow, there's a gap there.' You just have to be careful around the area where the tooth was pulled so it doesn't start bleeding again and can heal well. Trust me, you'll be fine!
