Girl group GFRIEND will be wrapping up their promotions of 4th mini album 'The Awakening" on the music broadcasts in this week.

 

On the 13th, GFRIEND said, "It was a lot of experiences to learn during this promotion" They said, "Not only we GFRIEND, but also each of members was able to grow up and to stand on tiptoe to a higher level."

 

"The Awakening''s title song 'Fingertip' was GFRIEND's unprecedented change.

 

Starting from their debut song 'Glass Bead' in 2015, they succeeded 'Me Gustas tu', 'Rough' and 'Navillera' in a row with groundbreaking change to the 'Power Innocence' concept they accomplished. For this promotion, they focused on the chorus's addictiveness 'Tang Tang Tang fingertip!' and turned their innocent image into a chic atmosphere, widening the limit of music.

 

Umji said "I've got questions about charts even from the beginning of the 'Finger Tip' promotion". "Receiving praise about 'GFRIEND is able to pull various concept off' was our goal for this promotion rather than the grades in numbers and it was a grateful promotion because we've heard lots of good words." Umji answered it with a smile.

 

 

During the 'Fingertip' promotion, they made precious memories in their first fan meeting with the fans that have been supporting GFRIEND through times as a reliable props.

 

The leader Sowon said, "It was the first time I've ever been so nervous on a stage but an excitement and tensions I had were so enjoyable. I did not know how the time flied and I had fun. "I was singing 'Glass Bead' for the first stage and when I saw the fans, I could do nothing but smile.", Yerin also smiled while thinking of that time.

 

Now the public's attention is focused on the next song as they showed their music is unpredictable with 'Fingertip'.

 

Sowon promised "No matter what song we are going to do, unless we are changed, we would always have 'GFriendish' in us" "We would show the songs which sounds like Gfriend'."

Yerin then flashed her face with a shy voice. "I've always said, I want to try the dreamlike concept' ".....but I dont think it would be possible"

 

Next would be GFRIEND Members' closing thoughts on "Fingertip" Comeback

 

Sowon: "It feels like it was shorter than our previous comeback. For last promotion, It was like 'We already came this far' but for this promotion, I didn't realize it was already last broadcast as our fans do. However, it was exciting to show our new side and I think that's why the time flew past so fast"

 

Yerin: "I can not believe it's over already. Every previous stages gave me bittersweet feeling. I'll be back quickly! I'll be back, haha."

 

Eunha: "It was an unusual promotion because we showed a new side of us. I am happy since we could finish it with a good experiences."

 

Yuju: "We held a fan meeting, got a new cheer stick and also had a lot of changes in costumes, and many new things started so It feels a like restart since we tried many new things. I appreciate all the members who worked hard without getting hurt. "

 

Umji: "Our comeback was also fun, but this comeback was full with a lot of valuable things and I enjoyed it. I had many opportunities to communicate with my fans.. our first fan meeting would be the most memorable one."

 

SinB: "It was my first promotion as an adult and I think I worked with a new attitude and mind. All the member's appearances changed a lot and we had a change of concept, I enjoyed it. This promotion was especially great because I had lots of time to meet my fans."

Even though I LOVED Fingertip, I feel like it was too much of a drastic departure from their previous concepts.

 

I think they should've promoted Hear The Wind Sing instead.

 

I'm excited to see what they do next though, hopefully SouMu don't regress and give them their old innocent concepts again.
