The ironical thing is that from 'I need u" till their latest title songs they've been performing great in terms of digitals. People acting like they are performing very poorly in terms of digitals; And believe me having a huge ass fandom doesn't garantee high digitals. Their songs might not be  national hits but they are successful

It's still not a national hit. Although, I actually genuinely believe there's a high chance that they'll get their biggest hit amongst Korea with their next song. Everything is building up towards it.

so even if it's not a national hit (which op didn't mention)

You still recognize it as a hit song? No?

You are right. But apparently because they have never had a "hit" people act like all their songs don't do well. INY charted 3 months in melon, this is before they had a big fanbase in Korea and people called them nugu but most boy groups now can't even do that with a bigger fanbase in Korea than bts had then.

Let's just wait till it actually reaches 1M downloads, shall we? I want a proper celebration.

It's already april 2017 and i'm still listening to BST! Indeed, a timeless BOP.

(PS : i don't care about this so-called hit song. All of bts' songs are good and worth listening. That's all that matters.)

I love how the criteria for "hit song" used to be simply hitting 1M but now that BTS is finally very close to it, it's suddenly "having a national level of hit song". They could have a Cheer Up level of hit song and people would still find a way to discredit them, it's so transparent lmao.

Regardless of having a "national hit song" or not, it's undeniable that they are one of the few bgs that have good digitals and esp good longevity. Many groups have a big fanbase and can't even hit 300k DLs.

Exactly. OHers used to say that to have a hit song, you need at least 1M downloads, a roof hit and be able to stay in the Top 10 of the Daily/Weekly Chart on Melon for a whole month. BTS did all of that and it's suddenly not good enough. It's still not a hit song.

Edit: Correction. They're about to hit 1M D/Ls. But the rest rings true.

And then suddenly they acknowledge that BST is a hit song but we now have a new title to achieve, the 'national hit song'.

They say no one in Korea knows them or their songs when people who have actually been to Korea recently heard their songs everywhere, including B-sides from their WINGS album. rolleyes.gif
