Even in Return of Superman, Lee Dongguk sends her daughter Jea to practice tennis in Thailand.

I guess tennis lesson in S.Korea is too cutthroat.

Korea's job market is no joke.

Your education and even your physical appearance even if you are not in a marketing/selling industry is somehow needed.

Recruiters and companies even advise you if you need eyelid surgery and i'm talking about a guy doing a job interview. What more for girls.

He sent her there because of the weather. I think she had an issue with her leg and it was winter in Korea, it wasn't an ideal time for her to train so sending her to a foreign country that has a warmer weather to heal and actually train instead of staying home because of how cold it is was the best solution.

this is also the case with the Chinese.

they see having a western education = more prestigious

Phililippines is more prestigious???

Good command in foreign language(s), especially English, is looked highly of (and a huge merit for job recruitment) and international school's tuition fee is crazily expensive in Korea, Korean kids are sent off with their mom to study in oversea international schools.
