I got one done from Ancestry.  I thought it was worth it, it did tell me both stuff that I knew and stuff that I didn't know, so overall it was pretty cool.  I say go for it.  There are also a bunch of videos on youtube of people talking about their results, they're pretty interesting to watch.

yes buy it! if you're asian/mixed w asian, 23&me is a better dna kit since it's more detailed with asian ethnicities, and ancestry dna is better if you're black/mixed w black

i'm asian (taiwanese) and took the 23&me one and it said i was 55% japanese and i never knew. it was sooo cool to find that out

I haven't but my mom and dad have, plus my ethnicity was not a huge mystery to begin with since my mom does geneology. Even still we found out my mom is part Jewish, which was brand new information.

I do think it's worth having a good understanding of your ethnic background, I think it's worth it for those who can afford it, especially people who have mystery ancestries.

I'm Latina (chilean) so I think I probably have a little of everything in me lol(?) tho I've always been said I look asian, and that's the mystery bc there's no asian in my family (that we know)

No, I want to though. Whenever I ask either side of my family where our ancestors came from they always just say "Britain." I did find this large family tree online that had my mom's side of the family in it though. Actually, since the first person on it had my last name, I thought it would lead to my dad's family, but nope, it was my mom's, and my dad's wasn't on there at all. Also, one of my ancestors did in fact come to the colonies from England sometime in the late 1600s, which was the first ancestor I could find record of and may partially be where the Britain answer comes from. The point though, is that, I forget how it came up, but my grandmother mentioned that her grandmother was in fact half Native American, so clearly "Britain" isn't a complete answer.

Same, I always thought that my family came from Spain bc of our last names, but I just discovered that there are some Italian and French ancestors from my dad's side and apparently there's an Asian on my mom's side
