Ladies' Code...no rookie group has ever come out with a song like that before. Amazing debut. They'd better not disapoint me with their next releases.

Lee Hyori... her mv was really original; her heroine was a real badass that exercised real agency unlike 90% of most kpop mv heroines.

See, I'd pick Ladies' Code again because I fucking stanned Sojung after one listen, but CL's legs, man. Can't say no to that hotness :megusta:  Additionally, she singlehandedly proved that a female idol rapper can stand on their own.

I've grown quite fond of Ladies' Code since their debut but mainly because Sojung has such a unique voice within the context of K-pop. They easily released a much stronger track than both Lee Chaerin and Lee Hyori because it was both cohesive and delivered on their vocal work. Definitely enjoyed the visuals for Ladies' Code the least because both Lee Chaerin and Lee Hyori delivered much stronger visuals but there isn't anything on this list touching The Baddest Female in terms of visuals.

um...those two songs have nothing in common either lyrically or genre-wise.

Ladies' Code is talking about not caring about a partner's feelings in a relationship and their song is RnB/jazz inspired pop. Miss A's track is refuting a man that judges women for being sexually appealing and is dance pop.

you're looking into it too deeply. i know what the songs are about, that's not what i mean.

BGGG was a 'powerful' debut empowering women and talked about being a 'bad girl', also the visuals in BG were slightly reminiscent of BGGG.

you were implying no group had ever had a strong debut like that, which is why i brought up miss a.

dude, tons of groups have had a 'strong' concept, I wasn't born yesterday. I stan fucking 2NE1. Don't put words in my mouth. I don't see how the visuals are similar (subdued colors in a school/dance studio vs bright colors in random room/cruise ship/beauty parlor) but okay, if you say so. Also if you think concepts are the most distinguishing feature of a release...more than the actual genre and lyrics...that says something about what kind of fan you are.

I was referring to genre...I think it's freaking fantastic that RnB/jazz is going mainstream in kpop again.
