Would Kpop hits of the past be as big today?

I think the title is a fragment.

Do you think kpop hits of the past, some which were breakthrough hits for their groups, be as big today as they were in the past? Or, songs like them?

Like say if a song like Big Bang's "Lies", Wonder Girl's "Tell Me", or SNSD's "Gee' came out today, or if those songs never came out and came out tomorrow, would they be such huge hits today as they were in the past?

I swear to god someone made this exact topic like 3 days ago...

Really? Been thinking about this topic on and off for months and now a few days late lol.

Anyway, I guess I never actually responded to the topic myself.

You hear people say they miss songs like Tell Me or Mirotic or Genie, but I feel like if they came out today, they wouldn't be nearly as big. Different tastes at the time coupled with nostalgia and memories color people's opinions. I mean, people still like songs from say Backstreet Boys and N'sync, but if those songs just came out today, they might not be that popular or even stand out.

I suppose it's a mix of competition at the time and the general market and pop culture of the years.

With that said, I do think some might be popular still today, like maybe Haru Haru.

I can see BEG's Abracadabra coming out and still being a hit.

I can see Big Bang's Haru Haru coming out and still being a hit.

I can see Shinhwa's Perfect Man coming out and still being a hit.

I can see Wondergirls' Nobody coming out and still being a hit.

I can see SNSD's Genie coming out and still being a hit.

There are quite a few hits of the past than I can see still being a hit if they were released today, just for the fact that they had driving melodies. Nothing spans time like a good melody. Trends come and go but if a song has a good, driving melody it usually still manages to maintain appeal. Particularly in Korea. I think that's why A Pink's NoNoNo and SiStar's Loving You, for example, did so well, because they had that charming little melody.
