Appreciation [ANNIV D-7] To the owner of vocals as smooth as melted chocolate: Do Kyungsoo

brown is the color of the soil and represents support and security, just as kyungsoo, who controls the earth, provides stability between the other powers and brings them together

 

 

D.O. comes along with the mysterious keys of the piano on the 14th of February, 2012, as an eclipse reflects on water.

 

 

Looking nothing less than a deer in the headlights, Kyungsoo (who debuts as D.O. based on his family name Do) becomes a quick fan favorite. His soft and young looks are deceiving, though, as he packs in amazing vocals - a testament to his tutelage under the renowned Yoo Young Jin. It's no wonder he's been cast after receiving recognition at a singing competition, which became his ticket to his idol career.

 

 

Small Kyungsoo is full of surprises! He showcases his 

 skills, much to the surprise of the audience. His so-called signature dish, the kimchi spaghetti, is the talk of the town as he animatedly 

 to a radio host how to cook the dish. Occasionally, he will show his silly (but cool!) 

. Something which he reveals much later, is that he has dreamed of acting since elementary.

 

Five years ago, Kyungsoo stands with his members in front of fans, and introduces himself:

 

 

He is D.O., the smooth vocalist of EXO and its subunit, EXO-K.

 

 

Actor Do Kyungsoo is not only a fans' favorite, he is even ranked number one acting-idol, and has been raved about by his fellow actors. He has appeared in no less than six films and four TV shows since the kick off of his acting career. The roles he challenged range from an innocent boy experiencing his first love to the past abused shadow and nightmare of a delirious adult.

Not only does he eye complex character roles, but he is perfectionist at work, as he's stated he has wanted to retake all his roles due to unsatisfaction at his execution.

 

After landing his first acting gig, Kyungsoo was not spared from criticising comments who accused him of getting roles based on his popularity as an EXO member.

 

But if there's anyone who's honest and genuine about his roles, it's Kyungsoo. He has proved his acting capabilities, showing his merit and dedication, by going as far as tanning himself for a country-boy look, bulking up for a judo player role and cutting a good chunk of his hair, much to the cries of fans. And such, he has become one of viewers' most loved young actors.

 

Other than building himself a well versed career in acting, Kyungsoo cannot be seen more comfortable in his singer and performer roles. He belts out high notes as smooth as the finest melted chocolate, and has developed his own 

 style by including fluid turns and spins to bridge moves, something which cannot be said for the then-D.O..

 

To bless us with one of the smoothest voices in the industry, Kyungsoo has gifted us a collaboration with his vocal instructor:

 

 

Do not put it past him to show when he is displeased with someone - if fans have been causing ruckus that causes inconvenience for others, he flat out 

 his irritation and disappointment.

 

Following his kimchi spaghetti escapade, Kyungsoo has become the nation's number one son with cooking skills to bring home, after he cooked live for fans and his mother.

 

 

 

On January 12, 1993, a beautiful human being by the name of Do Kyungsoo was born. He would eventually grow up to become an adorable and sexy ball of squish, a man of many talents (not to mention in cooking), and also a source of light to anyone who knows him.

 

It only feels like yesterday since you’ve debuted, but these five years that you have given to us EXO-Ls have been incredibly special and amazing. Throughout these years, you have earned so many accolades as both a singer and actor but your humbleness and beautiful smile have never changed one bit. If there is one important lesson that you taught us, it’s that you always put your 100% dedication and passion into whatever you set out to do. Your heart shaped smile, powerful voice, and 4d personality have become a part of who you are today and there is a not a single thing that we would ever change. Words are simply not enough to describe how much happiness and sunshine that you give us, but we hope that you will always feel loved and appreciated in return. 

Thank you for all the times that you’ve made us cry and swoon just by hearing you sing with that beautiful voice of yours. Thank you for always going out of your way to take of the other EXO members. But more importantly..

What can i say about this guy!!

 

1st i have to start this by saying, my sister is crazy about you and shes one of those few exols who are very loyal to his bias (not an exohoe). She loved you from the start when you were still not confident with your singing to the actor soo and a very reliable singer you are now. I tried to sway her to like other exo members but shes still loyal to you!!

 

Anyways, here i go:

 

From the guy that is so awkward on stage and camera well he still is, haha. You have captured all exols and non fans since the beginning when you sang what is love with our dear baekhyun.

 

 

I love that up to now youre still the flufy kyungsoo that we knew back then.

 

 

 

 

 

Although nonfans only knew you as the cute and fluffy guy in exo who has a great, soothing r&b voice. You are more than that to EXO and exols. Youre the guy who takes care of the members and always giving encouragements to them, especially on their solo projects. Youre the guy who laughs at their jokes eventhough its a lame joke (suho, chanyeol and jongin im looking at you).
