I think that this could be beneficial if the final 9 are lacking in some important area and they need to fix it...

I wouldn't mind but it would look bad considering they had viewers vote on the number of members and adding more would explicitly go against what viewers picked.

i already stan a lot of big groups honestly, and they don't always work well. large groups are harder to organize and match all the girls with a concept that suits them.

so, rather than the teachers adding girls, i'd prefer if they just got a partial say in the rankings. so like, they can provide their weekly ranking of the talent and that could give the girls points as well toward their final rank. 

 

That's an interesting idea. I think it would be a safer option.

Seeing how bad the show's rate is going on now....... instead of making it to top 9 I lowkey wish my biases didnt made it into the final line up and then get a love call from other agency....

 

Even if the show isn't doing great in ratings, the group  will start with a fanbase already. That's better than starting from zero.

DSP has actually seemed to improve with promotion. They have better marketing, at least, and are adapting April to the current market trends as well instead of keeping them with a sound that wasn't entirely working for them. Tbh, I hope they pick up some of the girls. I'm personally hoping some of the eliminated girls get picked up by WM and Bighit. I don't trust that Bighit isn't putting together a girl group tbh, as some people say. 

 

Frankly, I'm not too happy with the current top 9 and I can't see too much movement happening, so I might honestly end up just being a casual fan depending on how good their debut is, but gonna withhold final judgment until the line up + debut song are released 

 

I'm curious, why aren't you happy with the current top 9? What would you change?

Mostly, I'd like more vocals. I got into it a little bit, but the girls are just capable vocalists imo. I think the viewers are choosing based on visuals and personality more so than ability, as is how these shows usually go. Capable doesn't mean that they can do especially difficult songs vocally and it definitely means that even slightly more challenging songs won't be that well done live. It worries me that there isn't a standout vocal with the company they'll sign under being unknown still and the show not doing well on its own merit. I'd bring back Sia or Nayeon and have either of them and Jiwon or Haein be an absolute shoe-in. 

 

Visuals and vocals are how groups often break out when they're under smaller companies, and it's usually a combination of the two (see AOA with Seolhyun and Choa, rip Choa) but more often than not for the group to be successful as a whole, it's more vocal than visual. Visuals are often praised and well known regardless of how the group does (D1A, Gugu/dan, EX1D, M1ss A) whereas vocals usually draw attention to the entire group (Mama/moo, G/friend). 

 

The current top 9 girls are likable. I'll probably be a casual fan and follow their releases + variety appearances. But without the company guarantee or the vocal ability, I can't see them doing extremely well and, unfortunately, I follow a lot of groups with that MO already lmao and some of them have better vocals than the girls on this show as well. If one of the girls I stanned prior to the show (Natty, Seoyeon, Haein, etc) get in, I'll probs still remain a casual fan and just be an individual stan for that particular member.

I was hoping for at last one standout vocalist, too. However, this far in the game, probably none of the powerful vocalists (Dahee, Sia, Nayeon) will get into top 9 — that is, without some kind of radical interference from Mnet or whoever is in charge of the final group. According to spoilers, these girls were already eliminated, though.

 

If the final group doesn't get a good agency, I wonder how it will do in the long run, particularly without a standout vocalist to pull weight. Hmm.

 

Anyway, I don't know if I'm stanning the group or not. No matter how much I like the final girls, I have to like how they sound, their music and performances to actually stan. I have to see what they put out first before deciding.

My biggest concern with the post-Idol School is whether we'll ever see Somyeong again. 

 

All my fav girls got eliminated or aren't in the top 9, so I'm concerned about not seeing them anymore after the show ends. There's a great possibility that no agency will sign them, since Idol School is not popular and many agencies debuted girl groups recently or are about to. >_<

Haein actually gives me Chungha vibes, so I think she should be a solo artist rather than a girl group member.

Still worried about vocals. For me Jiwon isn't enough (she is primordial now of course)  but bringing small vocalists won't help a lot (my opinion of course), it should have been Nayeon/Shin Sia. So now I just don't care (just praying for Jiwon). 

 

 

While I understand the entertaining factor, as that is what gets me to watch groups v-lives, variety shows, etc. It is also important to me for them to have good vocals and be able to slay on shows like immortal songs. Even Jiwon isn't nearly as strong as a main vocal as I would like and compared to other previous contestants, but there's no one better left. I don't expect to stan hardcore at this point. But they might surprise me.

 

And here I am, low-key hoping that Mnet will somehow bring Dahee/Sia/Nayeon back to be the main vocal and the 10th member. The chances of that happening are pretty much zero, but a girl can dream. lol

 i've revised my estimation to being up to 1 girl will make it to top 9 who has been outside top 9. but most likely, it'll be the current top 9.

 

Yeah, I don't see more than 2 girls, who have been outside top 9, making it. And when I say 2, I'm being generous, it's probably just 1.
