I would say that they probably laid out all these rule changes beforehand to create buzz or plot twists...but they are poorly executed since this has too much of an innocent school feel with many young girls involved. The twists would work better in a show like the one they have lined up for the future: the 500 rejected idol or whatever it's called.

 

Jiwon is currently the best vocalist in the top 9. I would say judging by today's K-pop standards... Vocals aren't the most important aspect to success...it's the girls likeability and the songs the group releases. I don't even think dancing is that important anymore.

 

But they have good enough vocals...chae is decent..seoyeon is above avg..

Dont overlook Kim Nayeon who rescued the rookie team !

I know she is not the IDOL type in general but a wonderful vocal ...

Just watched ep4 raw

 

I think Rookie was so bad because there were all young. I mean there's no dynamic? No mix of voices. Even the chorus sounded like a bunch of kids singing. Except for that one girl of course but 1 is not enough of balance out the voices.

 

I forgot Herin existed until that one shot of her in the calling scene :imstupid: more screentime pls

 

The discrimination against Tasha & Jenny though. How dare they :omg: And Jenny ended up 31st :omg: Her part in Cheer Up was a little out of place but come on :unimpressed:

 

I agree fully with the perf ranking. Whistle team ftw :datass:

 

After this ep, I'm dropping Wonhee for Jisun in my 9. Wonhee is very cute but her voice is still childish. She is young of course. And no Jisun doesn't look like Kei, she looks like Chungha.

That "one girl" is Nayeon, just thaught i state it for gentleness and because it seems she is only recognized in a bunch of bad singing ones, even that is more sad, she is a great singer Edited by Difmag

Lion Heart... is honestly not an easy concept to pull off and I'm 80% sure they're going to butcher it. Oh well, maybe they'll prove me wrong

 

But judging from their last performances I doubt it

 

Give Nayeon Taeyeons part, she should be able to rescue another group ... She is able to sing this kind of song

Just wanted to show Nayeon skills, ok maybe I overrate her ... But I understand that as it seems to be a song of your favourite group you are sceptical. ..

She's not bad, but it's like someone above me said, she alone can't save the whole performance. It's gonna have to be the whole team, good teamwork is what I'm looking for here.

I agree with you on that point .. Hopefully the groupd will have a strong leader and good teamwork ....

I already know it's not going to be perfect but I just don't want them to butcher it, that's all I wish for. It could be average and I would still be like "OMG THEY DID SO GOOD!!!" Honestly my expectations are not that high so they have to be reaaaaaally bad for me to be disappointed...

Well Rookie WAS bad i.e. and i understand your fears ... Sorry was trying to promote Nayeon a bit as vovals seems to be underrated in this kind of show ...

I went to Hong Kong last month, and trust me, english literacy is not on par with what you'd expect. Most of them speak broken English, some mastering the basics. And I'm talking about shopkeepers, taxi drivers, one you'd expect to speak English well.

 

 

I wonder how'd Gyuri rank second? She's not even top 15 in the school rankings.. I want to believe, but I do think it is a fluke??

As i am in Hong Kong often i can only support it, and it get worse as originally they learned English/Cantonese and now mostly Cantonese/Mandarin in school, so english is only 3. language now ...

well she's ex berrygood main vocal tho...

Gowoon voice (current main vocal) is amazin tho...they have standard

take a look... at least Nayeon is as good as Gowoon , or even better

 

Well to be honest i think Gowoon is better and Taeha as good as Nayeon but BG is a group of vocals and visuals ...

(including all 3 ex-members), just totally underrated

After watching the Facebook live videos are there any girls who you like more now? I wish I knew more Korean to understand some of the other stuff. 

My list is:

 

Park Jiwon - just more of her fun personality and singing (crashed the Karaoke group's area)

 

Kim Nayeon - the few seconds of her singing Rookie was an OK start  last episode but her live singing karaoke was almost effortless

 

Lee Haein - nice to hear her voice is back

I wonder how they choose members for each team. Some teams are too famous. Then weak teams has to against strong teams

 

It's impossible for Just In love team to beat BO$$ team or Catalena team to beat Forever love team

Well if anyone looked the karaoke (Haein,Sia,Nayeon) ... 3 great vocals and 2 of them in just in love team. And Dahee is not bad too ...

btw, from what i gather...it seems like if you dont win your 1 vs 1 matchup, it's like a death sentence for you..

 

each winning group in the 1 vs 1 (that's 4 groups) will get +3 bonus. that's a huge swing if half of the girls get the bonus...

 

so say for example you are currently 25th right and you lost your 1 vs 1 matchup AND 26-32 girls all get the +3 bonus.

 

that means you will be eliminated for being 25th...

 

the bonus CAN be huge!

Missed that, 8 girls eliminated again ?

In fact if all winners get +3 it's even 12-16 girls getting it ....

no numbers mentioned yet. i'm just throwing hypothetical figures...how much the impact of +3 for half of the girls in idol school would have.

Ok thanks, just want Nayeon up the line, she deserves a group (even if I bet she will get one anyway)

Ps in the karaoke video she really looked like a little mini mouse with her cheeks and her teeth :) she is such a cutie even if she is not that young for an idol

Damn, the big 3 in one group. I'm shook! They also got the highest group score right?

 

I think the audience targeted BO$$ to be the next "Avengers" group and set a high expectation on the girls and/or like someone said, fans not voting for the group itself to save their fav.

 

I hope there's a preview or snippets on this week's episode.

Or maybe Shin Sia, Kim Nayeon and Lee Dahee were just good ? ;)

They are totally underrated and i know they are not really super beauties but they can SING at least smile.png

Even if i know they are not anyones (or maybe nearly noones) favorite they are not untalented ...
