The boys always just seem to be there—they even get pushed to the side or back when it comes to performances and there's no effort to make it seem like a proper co-ed group and not just a girl group with a rap duo feature. In AAA's case even if there was a focus on the boys over the girls, it was always just some of the boys. In effect they basically came off as any normal girl group/boy group—obvious leads, while everyone else was equal. Same with Dream5—Akira was their sole male member but Yuuno and Momona were on the same playing field as him because all 3 were just dancers, so it didn't seem off. lol don't have that balance for me. I do agree that Naoto is a weak vocal but he's like in charge of the dancing in the group and he's the best dancer in the group too. But, the girls in term of stage presence, they're better than the boys imo. Their stage aura is better than the boys. I have seen more people praising the girls being cool and awesome. During their earlier days, Shake Shake and Fire, the boys sang the chorus and got more parts. The girls got more parts in recent singles because the songs are heavily told from the girls' perspective like spank is about boy who is seen having fun with other girl or something like that, bye bye is about breaking up with a boy and party up is about girls' party and forget about the boys and troublesome things hence why the boys didn't get a lot of parts. I think avex got the message hence why they decided to release double titles single one is from the girls' perspective and the other is from the boys'. I wish they would learn from Kard (kpop co-ed group) because their songs are told from both girls and boys' view so they got equal parts. I have the same sentiment with AAA ;__; The boys got so many lines compared to the girls but oh well, my bias is officially graduated from the group in the three days anyway I like them but the girls overshadow the boys imo. because this time they release double titles single and this song, "boyfriend", is a song from the girls' perspective. I'm salty that Chiaki doesn't get anything else from them members or last live show. No hate but I listened to it and pretty much forgot it right after. Unlike with bye bye which I liked at first listen and pretty much replayed countless times after I don't actively follow the group but from the first time I got to know them, the girls have always had a stronger presence compared to the boys. Most especially Hibiki imo, not just on their MVs but also when performing. The girls know how to interact with the camera. But the way they're being promoted, it's starting to look like the boys are just back-up singers/dancers to the girls instead of actually being part of the group.
