Horrible... no mileage at all... she covered absolutely no ice not to mention she couldn't even land the double axel, which is the easiest jump in skating... lol. kobe88 37 Posted February 22, 2014 Share Posted February 22, 2014 Any sport that has a scoring system determined by a judges panel will always have problems like this, because at the end of the day it all comes down to the judges personal opinion of the athletes' performance. That's why I prefer sports where the participants compete directly with one another, pretty much eliminating or at least minimizing any chances of fixing the results. Also one other important thing: Judges should never be from the same country as the participants. Like in soccer if England was playing Germany in a match, the referees CANNOT be from England or Germany!! They must be from a neutral country. Important paragraph from that link: To those who think Adelina deserved gold: How would you explain the fact that Adelina got higher marks than Asada Mao, who landed EIGHT triple jumples (including a triple axel)? It is a skill only a minority of skaters can even execute and is thus meant to be marked very highly as a result. What? Are you saying that Adelina had higher technical components than Yuna? Then explain how Asada got 144 points (with clean jumps) and Sotnikova got 149 points (with NOT clean jumps). Please. Fact: Sotnikova was inflated. Yuna Kim and Asada Mao were underscored.
