Poor Tinashe

Dis gon be long but I really feel sorry for Tinashe. She doing the absolute most trying to make it big in the industry, but every attempt either comes off as too try hard (the 2008 Ciara B-side reject that was Superlove) or watered down dated pop anthems (Flame).

Her strongest assets are probably her dancing and recognisable tone. IMO she don't have the prettiest voice, it can become a bit grating at times, and although not everyone can be a powerhouse vocalist, she doesn't even use dynamics in her delivery so she sounds monotone. But she sings in tune so its alright with me.

even tho her marketing team tryna sell off her boobs as her strongest assets

Been discussing her struggle to success with peeps on others forums and many others agree some of it is due to her overplayed "sex kitten" image. Girl can dance for sure, but its obvious her risqué choreo is catering for the male gaze. In fact, her sexed up image is probably turning away a wider fanbase. She probably needs an image revamp - sweet, laid-back, ethereal princess appeals a lot to the GP aka  Corinne Bailey Rae or Taeyeon's fairy image. No one really knows what Tinashe's personality is like, so that causes a lack of connection between her and fans - she doesn't appear genuine. This is why it would be ideal to have something similar to Korean variety shows in America e.g Running Man, where appearances are very stripped down and natural, basically just them dressed in casual gear instead of being glammed up, participating in fun challenges, just being carefree and having a good time. It shows celebs aren't afraid of letting go of their high strung image.

Idk guys, I hope Tinashe is dropped by RCA cause they ain't doing her no favours

People have a theory RCA is putting her on the back burner because she lacks the it factor and if you don't have anything to give the label, they won't do jack for you. They're saving their energy and money for other acts.

Tinashe is a case of someone who when she went mainstream, had a fanbase from her mixtape days. However with these lukewarm singles, she's alienating a lot of them as they expected her to stay true to her alt R&B roots, or at least keep some influence from there in her B-sides and what not.

However, someone with the it factor can debut without any fanbase but can gain immense public recognition.

Some people have public recognition, some have a solid fanbase and a select few are lucky enough to have both (Beyonce comes to mind).
