Pann: Twice's Japanese debut scale

1. [+123, -28] But they have Japanese members. Wasn't the group produced to target Japan?

2. [+51, -15] Hul ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ Amazing indeed... I'm not a Twice fan but I admit the big scale.

3. [+46, -16] Twice haters are so pathetic... tsk tsk.

4. [+28, -10] I don't hate Twice but it's impossible to compare them to second generation groups. In other words, it's impossible to compare SES (first gen) to SNSD (second gen) because things have developed since the first generation. Have you heard of SES' Japanese advancement? HOT's? At that time, a group couldn't advance to overseas just because they were popular. SNSD could because BoA and TVXQ had paved the way before SNSD. Same with Kara. Flaunting Twice's 10,000 audience and putting them above SNSD and Kara is laughable ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ No one said SNSD was bigger than SES and Fin.K.L when they were on their peak. Please.

5. [+25, -9] Do you even know when SNSD and Kara held their showcases? It was 7 years ago. They paved the way and now you're looking down on them. In fact, SNSD's total audience was 21,000. Why are you twisting the facts? The fans of Kara, SNSD, and Bigbang don't look down on TVXQ and BoA who started off by performing on the street. They sold their CDs at small record shops and performed here and there. Are you gonna say that TVXQ's debut scale was shitty? There are things that you can't compare because the situations are different. Twice fans must be thoughtless.

6. [+23, -2] Soon after, this place will be filled with Twice antis.

7. [+21, -5] Twice is amazing. Congrats on your Inkigayo triple crown and let's hit daebak in Japan!

8. [+19, -23] Don't say they're popular when they have 3 Japanese members.

9. [+17, -7] SNSD's Japanese promotions were easier because other groups had paved the way. Artists like BoA, TVXQ, and Kara did.

10. [+16, -1] Why are you comparing them to other groups? Twice's scale is all thanks to other groups paving the way.

The showcase numbers may be bigger, but Kara and SNSD's made a bigger splash in Japan when they debuted.

For example lots of boy groups have Japanese debut showcase with bigger numbers, but they're far from popular in Japan and outside of Japanese kpop fans the public don't know them.

I'm excited to hear the Japanese versions of their Korean hits. Barring Genie and Lupin, I usually like the Japanese versions better.

me too! Especially TT. Then my life will be half complete until their first full album to make me whole

The total number of Soshi showcase is wrong

Also, let's wait for their debut before opening your big mouth, these new gen fans can't even wait for 1 minute to brag about their fave

Not @ people being insecure as per usual when all this article is doing is hyping Twice's debut in Japan.

Though somehow it's taken as disrespect to SNSD and Kara... mess.

It's not disrespect, but just setting the context. Things were different for SNSD and Kara

not me

Oh well I guess not everyone, but there was a thread a while back about how SNSD has effectively surpassed SES and is the greatest gg of all time. And in that thread no one seem too shy of the comparison .
