He wants everyone to follow exactly the way he envisions, giving them no room to explore their potential. His best movies are kungfu hustle and shaolin soccer, which starred himself. He knew exactly what he wanted to show people, but only he himself can do so. You can see Deng Chao, Kris, and the guy from JTTW 1 did not deliver their roles well partially because of this. I mean his movies have great themes and creative imaginations, but the jokes are very deep rooted hong kong style, which does not work with chinese actors. they actually get cliche and repetitive now. Is not like it ended on a cliffhanger or anything, the story was pretty much wrapped up. If it's a new story with new characters then just make a different movie or spin off not a sequel.
