I think the song helps, it's more lively than what they've done so far, they're dancing too. A summer song attempt? I hope they'll get a couple more opportunities than just weekly music shows. (even though music shows is already nice^^)

Melody Day was formed in 2012 jointly by LOEN Entertainment and Viewga Entertainment, a “faceless†group singing soundtrack songs. They worked without performing or appearing in public for 2 years. It’s only shortly before their debut, on February 16th, that Viewga and LOEN finally revealed the names and faces of the 3 girls singing in the group: Yeoeun, Yein and Chahee. They released their debut single called “Another Parting†on February 25th 2014, which was used as an OST for the webdrama of the same name.

In October 2014, a 4th member was added to the group: Yoomin. Her first official participation in group activities was for singing Cantabile Tomorrow’s OST.

In June 2015, they made a comeback with the song #LoveMe, showing a new brighter image, and a sound moving away from the ballad style they had been doing so far.

In October 2015, they make a 3rd single comeback with the song Speed Up and a more sexy, confident and mature image.

If I'm honest I'm not a fan of this comeback at all... :S I loved #LoveMe but Speed Up falls short of expectations.

I don't know why, but it feels like it's missing the sparks, and it does nothing in showcasing the girls' vocal. Melody Day is a group of 4 girls who would be main vocal (well maybe not Yoomin, but she would still be at least lead vocal) if they were in another group, I don't understand why their producer don't make more use of it. They could be up there with Mamamoo...

Well anyway I hope for the best, but I don't think this can be their breakout song...

I don't follow them close enough to know, it seemed like people were saying fanchants are louder for Yeoeun and Yoomin, so they're probably the most popular in Korea? OH is often an oddball in those things^^

Originally, Melody Day is a "joint venture" of Loen and Viewga, kinda like Hello Venus between Fantagio and Pledis before they became all Fantagio. Not sure if some members are still under Loen and the others viewga like it was the case for Hello Venus though. Loen is also the distributor for Melody Day. They've kinda always been affiliated with IU's company^^

i mean chahee has more lines in #loveMe but yein had an adlib in Speed up. i just know those songs, i haven't checked the osts  

 

Good question... Melody Day, like Mamamoo, is a group of vocalists. I don't think we can really put them into "lead" "main" category. Chahee is the higher tone vocal and Yein has the lower notes. That's how it looks to me^^'

Hi everyone, I'm a new fan of Melody Day   I remember watching "Speed Up" when it first came out, but I didn't really follow them at the time. I checked them out again a few days ago after rewatching this video of them and a few other groups eating bug cookies

So I listened to "Speed Up" again and liked it more than I remembered, and I really liked the B-sides too. But I think my favorite song of theirs is "All About," it's hard to explain but it's just really catchy and dramatic and good 

 

And I see Bosnia_HyunaLover<3 has beaten me to yet another nugu LOL!
