ugh i don't know many times i've heard of these "parent gave up son/daughter for adoption, later fall in love without knowing who the other is, find out they're related, but don't care" stories.  Like if I was adopted and the person I fell in love with later down the line was my own parent I would cancel that relationship so quickly.

I've heard too many stories like this for the disgust to register. Daughter x dad, grandma x grandson is usually what I hear about. So, in that sense, mom x son is unusual in this context.
