How did/do u motivate urself to do your homework in high school?

I threatened myself with the thoughts of dropping out, getting pregnant, depending on a man for income, and living the rest of my life struggling to take care of noisy kids.

I'd try to think about the consequences of not doing my homework (how it will affect my future, what would happen if the teacher asks me a question relating to the hw, etc.) Also, I've noticed that playing some music and/or drinking tea helps

I think the most important tip is to avoid procrastination. Don't postpone your homework. You'll have to do it eventually - ergo it's better to get it done early so that you can spend the rest of the day relaxing, having fun and so on

My tests score werent that good so if i didnt do the homeworks i had to take extra classes which means less time to play so i kept telling myself to do the homeworks so i could play.

Also most of the time i didn't do my homeworks alone. I did them during school breaks on the day the hw was given. I was so glad that somehow my classmates were the dilligent but nice people so they didnt mind i butt in XD

well if I didn't do my homework, then my teachers would inform my adviser (at my high school we had something called "advisement" between 1st and 2nd period every MWF and it's something like homeroom, I guess, only it lasts about 10-15 minutes and there's no actual "advising" going on) of how I'm doing poorly in their class, who would then tell my mom about my academic progress, who would then literally beat my ass. imstupid.png Like my freshman year I didn't do some of my homework since I didn't understand the homework questions and was too shy to ask for help (not to mention I felt stupid for not understanding and thought the teachers would judge me for that) and my mom was livid.

For me, money, deadlines, and punishment always works.

I stuck the tuition fee bill on the wall to remind me that additional year of tuition is enough to make me homeless. So I worked to achieve that goal, graduating. Mostly, it works

The feeling of knowing what I'm talking about in presentations and the confidence while taking tests lol And whenever I did my homework I actually understood what was going on in class and the time went by faster bc I could follow the teacher's explanation
